Linehan sucks!

Linehan sucks!

Granted Stafford is a rookie so you dont want to put too much on him, but geez, let the kid throw the damn ball!

His 4th quarter playcalling is horrible.  He's playing not to lose until the Lions have to score and then its too late.

Offer the job to Chip Kelly, at least he puts together a creative offense.

Also, regarding the receivers...i have never seen a bigger bunch of underachievers.  Catch the f'n ball!

I like Linehan as OC, but..........

He does tend to be too conservative at times.  I know we were backed up deep, but I just don't agree with the runs to Morris on 1st and 2nd down.

I dunno----maybe I'm just too PO'd right now.  It's tuff being a Lions fan.

Maybe he would call more aggressive plays if the WR would have caught the ball in the first half.

Or the QB had been a bit more accurate......

He did call for a hail mary but the QB threw it out of boudns.

He did call for a long one on 4th and 20 late, but again, the QB threw it out of bounds.

STAFFORDs a young rookie and it showed today, thats all.  Over throws and poor accuracy on others cost this team more completions and possibly more points.

Yep he had drops too, but not as many as the announcers called drops.  They believe that every pass that hits a receivers a catch or a drop..that just aint so.

Reaching, leaping, diving and balls thrown behind that arent caught, are not considered drops...generally.

Your seriously b!tching about 2 incomplete passes one being a hail mary and the other being 4th and 20 with the WR double covered?   And I'm sorry this is the NFL if the ball hits the WR's hands he should catch the damn thing to blame the QB for that is just down right ignorant..

House you are correct, he is a Stafford hater. Matt had 8-10 dropped passes today and if the receivers catch some of those throws maybe the O gets some momentum and we score some more points

First Real look at team starts today

Definitely can't blame it all on Stafford, or even most of it ... He missed some guys, but -- damn, hard to get it goin' when everyone is dropping every pass you throw ...

Re: Linehan sucks!

Actually, I agree with what was said above.  Any ball that hits a NFL WR in the hands needs to be a catch.  Heck when I started out in JV Highschool any ball that hit me in the hands and I didn't catch was two laps at the end of practice, and I was a LB the WR's had to do 5 laps.  I watched the Browns game and the announcers mentioned that the Browns were tackling better and that the Browns defense did live tackling drills in practice and even did tackling drills that are done in Highschool.

Re: Linehan sucks!

I will support Stafford as our QB until he retires or leaves, but is it possible that our rookie throws a tough ball to catch? These drops are being made by vets. If Stafford is struggling that's fine, it's part of growing, the Mannings did it. IMO a lot of his passes look flat. Also, IMO, he looks like he'll mature into something special.

Yeah those WR's are vets that bounced around the league from team to team for a reason.

Many of those passes looked like they should have been caught (one long one was be he just didn't hang onto it throughout his fall - B Johnson).  Mostly very catchable looking stuff... Nuff said.

I agreed with that htought all afternoon, but CJ is annointed the catcher of anything, and he even seemed to struggle with a Stafford throw this season. BJ (will always giggle when typing that) was expendable in AZ b/c of Boldin and Fitzgerald, does that mean he is bad? I am by no means saying that Stafford is bad, I am just merely suggesting that he may need to mature. I can't stress enough that I think he is what the Lions need though.

Your kidding me right?   What you said would make sense if it was one of those bullet throws that break your hands when caught, but cmon man.....alot of these throws ie Johnson and Northcutt were put right in a spot where it shouldnt be a problem for anyone.

Like I said I could see your arguement if he's gunning it in there at 90mph but that wasnt the case today.

Re: Linehan sucks!

Some of the balls that the announcers were talking about , I wouldn't consider drops.  They may have been catchable, but they would have been great catches.  I saw 8 balls that I thought should have been caught, however, and if they even catch half of them-the Lions could have won the game.
