Yep, step up to the plate Mr. Fairley, your future is yours for the taking...

Fairley and Reid will suffice. Get an edge rusher and CB and we're still good.

This really hurts our chances of retaining him

Are we ever gonna win it??

Yep, enjoy Suh's last year as a Lion. Suh and Fairley are gonna be monsters this year.

Mayhew: "I think it's possible" to use franchise tag next year on Suh. Wouldn't rule it out.

They think it will be possible to franchise him because of the increase to the cap next year. Who knows?

Martin Mayhew said he hasn't ruled out the possibility of franchising Suh because of the considerable jump expected to cap next year

Will the Lions be able to use the transition tag on him or Fairley next year?

Then this isn't good news for you. Now it can be discussed at great length for the ENTIRE season.

Lets hope Mayhew isnt around to make that decision.

Suh is as good as gone, no reason not to trade him at this point.

To lose both would be a shame for the ages, and Mayhew & Lewand should get their walking papers the next day.

I agree.  It's hard enough to draft talent that translates...  let alone do it over and over again because we can't retain our best players.

Re: Lions tabling negotiations with Suh until after season

Serious blow to this franchise and a slap in the face after this organization has paid him more than any other player in NFL history over the course of the first five years of his career.  Of course, I may not be objective because I really did not want them to let their best defensive player in as long as I can remember get away.  Wow.

I guarantee they offered to make him the highest paid DT in the league.

"We'll get a deal done on the eve of FA"  Mayhew.

We'll get a deal done before camp.

We're confident we'll get a deal done after the season.

Reality=he'll take his 20 mill this year and hit FA for an unprecedented DT contract.  Raiders?
any attempt to impersonate an actual scout in the above post has been done poorly, and should not be taken seriously by anyone
