Re: Contra Costa Recruiting Update

My congradulations to Bakersfield for winning the championship. However, if you are going to educate everyone about the Bakersfield way, also inform us that Bakersfield is in the middle of no where with more high schools than any place in the state to draw from. As for community college, people are paying money to attend these schools, if the locals are not able to get classes because of outsiders, then legislate changes. Community college is first and foremost about plan A, Education.

Understand this, by nature, football on the college level can be construed as unfair. Unhappy D-1 players returning to community college because they were unhappy. Players from out of the area playing in front of locals. I have nothing but respect for the Bakersfield's, SFCC...ect because the coaches have guided these young men and prepared them for the next level. As a parent, I want to see Johnny play, but keep in mind, this is a business. Those scholarships, are not given, they are earned.

Re: Contra Costa Recruiting Update

According to you Bakersfield is in the middle of nowhere with all those high schools to draw from............ thats your point ??? FYI..... Bakersfield sits at the southern tip of the S.J. Valley while Sacramento sits in the north and Fresno in the middle. Sacramento has more high schools to draw from while Bakersfield and Fresno are the most comparable both in size and high schools............

So, why hasn`t Sac City, American River and Fresno City been as successful as Bakersfield College ??? Bakersfield built Memorial Stadium in the late `50s and it still remains as one of the top venues to watch football in........... plus the long tradition of the winning Renegade program..... Why Bakersfield and not Fresno or the schools in Sacramento ????

Also, what city in the Valley doesn`t sit out in nowhere ??? Fresno, Sacramento and Bakersfield are the population centers in the Valley.......... so what are you talking about ??

Re: Contra Costa Recruiting Update

It seems that you got lost regarding my point. You never said how many high schools are in Bakersfield.  You mentioned colleges in Sacramento. All are in close proxemity. In fact, when Solano shut down their program, Sacramento and the Bay Area took the players in.  In the middle of no where meant there is no other recruiting competition.

My question to you is how many high schools are in Bakersfield and what other JCs are in close proximety. Don't give me valley, southern tip, just the facts.  We both know that there is a difference in country miles and city miles.  Thanks for a spirited debate, best wishes for the players wherever they play.

Re: Contra Costa Recruiting Update

You never made a point............. just kinda rambled on !!! How many high schools in Fresno ??? How many high schools in the Sacramento area ??? One JC in Fresno..... what 2 in Sacramento ???

Bakersfield is 90 miles south of Fresno....... 110 milles north of L.A. so, now what ???? Oh, and just north of Ventura and Santa Barbara.............

Sacramento is a large area compared to Bakersfield............. so, who does Sac City compete with for their players ??? CCSF ? they are about the same distance that seperates Bakersfield and L.A....................

You said that I rambled. The two questions that I asked were in English. You answered one and side stepped the other.  Let me make it plain for you.  Bakersfield has double digit high schools, one JC and no other colleges around. You brag about all of the kids are from Bakersfield except for the Texas and Carolina kids.

A good coach and a good program should keep the local kids in Bakersfield. This is not knock on the program, just some information regarding a unique situation in Bakersfield that you refuse to acknowledge.  Once again, how many** high schools are in Bakersfield?**  Put it in print, and the rest is mute.
