Believe it or not WE are on the same page when it comes to a 6 team playoff for both North and SouthBut just to keep the pot boil N, I volunteer Memorial Stadium in Bakersfield for the State game…..
and I know NCoast65 and ALL the North would like Ratcliffe Stadium in Fresno for that game
How about Memorial when the south hosts.....and Ratcliffe when the north hosts?

NCoast65…..you were very close…..
It was originally designed to hold 16,500. An expansion bumped it to 19,468
However, Ncoast65, you are right on about the temp seats
According to the BC archives…..
'76 BC Vs COS (Potato Bowl-I think) 21,035
’68 BC Vs LB 18,949
’66 BC Vs LB 18,463
From 1978 to 1988 we had 20 games over 18,237 and a few after
Memorial Stadium’s largest crowd ever was 23,000 for a high school football game between Bakersfield High School and Bishop Amat Memorial High School in 1994.
And sadly Ncoast65……..the Shriners’ Potato Bowl never to be again
The STATE JC FOOTBALL know it alls a few years back started charging a $5,000.00 fee to put on a bowl game. When the Shriners asked for a waiver, because ALL the proceeds from the game went to the Shriners Children’s Hospital for Kern County KIDS, THEY said NO – END OF THE POTATO BOWLBTW Ratcliffe Stadium seats 13,00
Kinda makes ya sorry ya asked…….

Just love the drive to central CA on 99 and 101 along the coast. Indeed a neutral site produces a true champion and your fan base and fan loyalty is tested.
There is president for a neutral field for a California State JC Championship game.

I must apologize to “HAM”…..
I did disseminate some BAD information.
Which I will now correct…..
“The state athletic organization had demanded an upfront payment of about $9,500 for the privilege of making the game part of the newly revamped state playoffs, according to Ned Driggers of the local Shrine office.”
(per the Bakersfield Californian –newspaper – 10Feb06)
I stand corrected
