Butte 7=0 after the first. CCSF is doing nothing. When they get something good they have a penalty. Butte controlling the game. Butte QB is 5 for 7 and 95 yards and one TD.

Looks like we have a three way tie. As I read it, it favors CCSF.

Re: Link to Butte/CCSF, listen LIVE...
You guys should not have lost to Deanza. What hurts Butte in the tiebreaker is the game versus a "C" team in Shasta.

Re: Link to Butte/CCSF, listen LIVE...
How can you go to strength of schedule but not go to overall record? If you cannot bring in the overall record but you can count the same teams in strength. Makes little sense

Re: Link to Butte/CCSF, listen LIVE...
Per the NCFA the tie breaker goes as follows. If three teams all beat each other, which is what just happened. Butte beat CCSF who beat Deanza who beat Butte. You then look at non conference wins. If you beat an "A" team (Valley) you get 15 points. If you beat a "B" team you get 10 and if you beat a "C" you get 5 points.
DeAnza lost a game, so they are out. Butte beat two "A" and two "B" teams as well as one "C" team (Shasta) CCSF beat two "A" and three "B" teams. That is how it works. This was passed by the coaches.

Re: Link to Butte/CCSF, listen LIVE...
This makes perfect sense. I hope Butte looks at this in the future. I think all teams in each conference should have the same strength of schedule. If I was CCSF I would concede the NorCal title Butte so we can have the best chance with the best team to win the state championship. Butte should be ranked ahead of CCSF in the final rankings. that should be the deciding factor in case of ties.

RE: Link to Butte/CCSF, listen LIVE...
I know the coaches voted for this and it is not a terrible way to decide the tie. The biggest problem with this system though is that it is easier for teams in a big city to schedule better teams for budget reasons. I am sure Butte schedules Shasta because it is very economical to play an opponent so close to home. With the budget cuts and financial hardships we have to deal with it is hard to penalize Butte for that.

Re: Link to Butte/CCSF, listen LIVE...
I understand the rules, I just not a fan of them in this case. Sometimes it is hard to get games, other times the lower tier programs want to play the higher tier to challenge their players before league play. What is crazy is that I would not have the same issues if it was DeAnza winning the league.
