Ravens Scrimmage Saturday

For those fans who are interested, the Coffeyville Red Ravens will hold an open scrimmage this Saturday at 10 AM at the stadium north of the city.  I understand they are scrimmaging the Kansas City Chiefs.  Maybe I heard wrong, so don't quote me.  Thanks..

Is Flores going to be there? Rumor is that he has missed at least a week of spring practice with his health issue.

Re: Ravens Scrimmage Saturday

I know what is going to be said after I say this BUT here goes. He he goes again, he is starting his crap way to early this year, AND each year he eats Red Feathers and comes back for more. banghead

Flores was off practicing his "spanking" techniques that he will use later in the year against Butler. biggrin

I told him we have a saying around here and it's called "slappin that axs" and we have some catching up to do against Butler, he agreed and thought it was funny.

we may get "our" axs slapped this first year until be can get some flow going but look out after that, BUT don't make the mistake and count us out 1st year right out of the box. if you do you may be sucking the hind tit. cool

Re: Ravens Scrimmage Saturday

I checked and Flores never missed a day of practice.  He does, however, suffer from allergies to ragweed, grass and tree pollen, dust, etc., but that just goes with the territory were in.

I did go to the Raven scrimmage and was pretty impressed with what I saw. There looked to be about 50-55 players (most of which were from last year's team) at the scrimmage.

The new coaching staff is excellent.  The offense is no longer an easy read, with lots of receivers all over the field and a new big D1-type 6'4" QB with a strong arm, with many options in every play.

The running game and offensive line were their weakest points, but I hear the Ravens have a several big running backs and some tough big linemen coming in.

The defense was very strong and looked nothing like they did last fall.  The team was well-coached and very disciplined.  No hot-dogging or back-talking of any kind.

In my opinion, the team I saw at the scrimmage in Coffeyville could beat most of the teams in the KJCCC right now..  However, much to my surprise, I heard that 30 of the players were cut from the team after the scrimmage.  I guess the new coaching staff likes their new recruits coming in this summer, even better.  Looks like a good year for the Ravens..
