Re: Butler's schedule
And once again, the Kansas teams are limited to 55 players, while the Texas teams are suiting up over 100. Some out-of-staters say that makes no difference. But, fatigue and injury become a big factor in any sports event as the game wears on.
Let me make a comparison. In a street fight, how would 55 guys armed with ball bats fare against a 100 guys armed with the same weapons? In a tag-team wrestling match, how would a team of two wrestlers do against a team of four wrestlers? Wouldn't it look unfair to see a boxing match with two against one?
Sitting Bull proved this point against Custer 140 years ago. Numbers DO make a difference.
Basketball teams across the nation are limited to the same number of players on each team, so why can't football teams do the same?
Well, that's what Kansas teams have to deal with when they play out-of-state teams. I would like to see what would happen, if ANY other state team that plays a Kansas Juco team would be required to suit up no more than 55 players as do the KJCCC teams. I know what would happen.......Kansas would dominate the juco football world.

Re: Butler's schedule
I never will forget; When I was a junior in highschool, a friend of mine was "Goin Steady" with my sister. Another fellow, a 'punkish' type 'boy' had da hots for my sister also. He kept acting all bad and tough, and man, over the phone he was gonna kick Paul's (my friend) a_ _ all over the school parking lot!!
"Over the phone" he wuz gonna tear him a new 'Ear-hole!! Well, outside the gym one night at a basketball game the "fight" was about to take place. Paul and I were sitting in the stands and Jeff came in and told Paul, "Man, that punk's outside and said he's ready to change your air filter if you got the guts to come out 'dair'!! He also said he knows karate!!"
Paul put a chew of Red Horse in his mouth as he and I got up and went outside. Paul told me as he put the tobacco pouch back in his pocket, "I don't need ya."---but, I went anyway; if for nothing else, just to watch this snot-slingin-sideshow......cause that's what it was gonna be. Everybody KNEW the punk was all talk mouth and nuttin more. He had listened to his buddy Mark pumpin him up for this(u know, kinda like the pollsters), but there was nothing to him. ALL SHOW and false propaganda.
We got out there and when they came face-to-face, the punk got all scared and started asking the stupidest questions: "How old are you?" "Wait now, how tall are you?" "How much fighting experience have you had?" It was really silly. Paul didn't really want to, but did it simply to teach him a lesson; and he popped him bout 7 times before he even saw Paul's fist comin.
It never ceases to amaze me; the type excuses you boys come up with. "Ah, ah, our...our #1 lineman's finger was hurtin! He bit the nail to the quick the night before!" "Oooh, the refs cheated! They just flat out took that game from us!" "Oooh, yall's receiver ...!.......He, he he....He wa, wa, was....he was pushin off! He wuz a Bully!"
And now.....You GOTTA BE KIDDIN ME!! "It's not fair!! They got more-dann-we do!" Are you kiddin me!!?? Mississippi can't dress out ANY MORE players than Kansas can. If I'm not mistaken, it's 53. I don't remember Texas dressing out no-100-da_n players.....Maybe so, I don't recall....but when it comes down to it, your best 30 are just that! The best.....and can last a game's length.
That's about as ridiculous a comment I've ever heard from the jayhawk.."We'd Dominate juco football if we could dress 100!!" "Custer proved the numbers point!!"
GET REAL DUDE.....................................Bless ya heart

Re: Butler's schedule
When Coffeyville played Georgia Military at Georgia a few years back, they suited up 85 guys. I know. I was there. I counted them. When Coffeyville played one of the Texas teams a couple of years ago in Texas, they suited up 103-105 players. It was hard to get an exact count, but they roughly had that many. I didn't go to that game, but several Coffeyville fans did and that's what they told us when they got home You get real........dude..

Re: Butler's schedule
So you're saying players 56-85 will make a difference in a competitive game? How often does a 3rd or 4th string player actually see the field?
To break it down - You can only have 11 players are on the field at a time, backupus will make 22, 3rd string will make 33. So for both sides of the ball that equals 66... Do you think the TX JC's have a 3rd string Right Guard, or third string Right CB, or do you think they have a guy that can play both spots? After the 2-deep at every position, take 1 OL, 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 QB, 1 DL, 2 LB, 2 DB = 55
Position Breakdown: OL (11), WR/TE (10), RB (4), QB (3), DL (9), LB (8), DB (10) . Highly doubt Butler's 12th best OL or 11th best DB would make a difference.
The TX, MS, AZ schools would still be just as good if they had a roster limit of 55... But they wouldn't cry about it, or use it as a crutch, like the poor ole KS teams.
