Butler's schedule

Butler's schedule

Butler's 2012 schedule is out, and we play Blinn from the SWJCFC . . . again.

Does anyone know how the Kansas/Texas schedule is done?  I always assumed that it was a round robin-type schedule where we played one Tx team home and away, then another team home and away, then another, etc.  Well, we've already played Blinn home and away -- and at the height of Blinn's success (including the Cam Newton year).  Then, we played Navarro at the height of its success the last two years.  And now we're playing Blinn again?!

WTF, can we catch a break sometime and play Cisco or Tyler, please?  (Not that those teams are slouches, but damn, we're always playing a top 5 team to start the season).

Sometimes I wonder why we don't just go the AZ/Utah/Miss route and just play St. Mary's School for the Blind and Parkwood Boarding School for Girls in the non-con.  If we did that, we'd be undefeated every year, and the idiot pollsters would STILL put us #1 or #2 and in the national title game -- at least it stil does for the WSFL schools.  And that league is WAAAAAY down, so withouth a good non-con opponent, they truly play very few, if any, really good teams.

I am not sure if this is right, but I was told by someone that they schedule the teams by the way they finish in the conferences.  Like I said, I'm not sure if that is correct or not.

Talk about the pot callin the kettle black!  Dude; you are completely clueless! Our Northwest, (a 'between mediocre and really good' squad for Ms) would EMBARRASS your Grizzlies!

Allow me to take you to school for a minute my naive jayhawk thinker;

You lost to Navarro who lost to Blinn....The 'same' Blinn that my Gulf coast BEAT by 29 points: (46-17)

You BARELY beat a mediocre Tx team in TV, who Navarro beat by 26 points! (42-16)

The 2 losses by GC come solely at the hands of the undefeated powerhouse National Champion East Ms......!!

And yet----Butler finishes 2nd in the polls and Gulf Coast #6??!!!!!!! eek1

And you have the testi_ _ _s to mock the pollsters as if they do Butler injustice!!!??? You absolutely "HAVE" to be acting son!!! No one, and I mean no one can actually be that ignorant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!eek1

(Disclaimer)
Websters Online Dictionary

'ignorant' is not a bad word..It simply means----"Doesn't Know"  (ex;  A Jayhawk Fan)

Re: Butler's schedule

SOS, I shouldn't even bother to reply because you're too obtuse to get anything out of it, but I'm going to give it one shot anyway:

The game comparison/comparative scores analysis doesn't work.  I could give 100 examples of how/why it doesn't work, but I have better things to do, and deep down, I know that you know better.

TV was not mediocre.  The TV team that lost to Navarro was WITHOUT ITS SUPERSTAR QB.  TV beat Navarro the prior week with its starting QB.  The fact is, the top 3 Tx teams (Blinn, Navarro, TV) were all very, very good and fairly equally matched.

I wasn't mocking the pollsters for injustice to Butler.  I was mocking them for giving too little weight to strength of schedule, particularly non-con schedule.  That's the only way that we have to determine that a conference is really good (as you always claim the MS conference is).

MORE IMPORTANTLY -- and please read this part because it's the most important -- I was only making the point that Butler always plays a difficult non-con schedule, and that it COULD go the route of those other conferences in playing a weak non-con.  Are you suggesting that my statement contains a false premise?  Do the MS schools play a difficult non-con schedule?  Or, are you actually trying to suggest that MS schools play a weak non-con, but are justified in doing so bc they play a diffcult conference schedule?  If the latter is your point, it could have easily and accurately been made with a single sentence.  I mean, you're not disagreeing that they have a weak non-con, you simply want to point out that MS schools are justified in so scheduling.  Hell, I may have even agreed with you.  As it is, you spent several paragraphs ranting about something that really has little to do with what I posted.

Re: Butler's schedule

And once again, the Kansas teams are limited to 55 players, while the Texas teams are suiting up over 100.  Some out-of-staters say that makes no difference.  But, fatigue and injury become a big factor in any sports event as the game wears on.

Let me make a comparison.  In a street fight, how would 55 guys armed with ball bats fare against a 100 guys armed with the same weapons?   In a tag-team  wrestling match, how would a team of two wrestlers do against a team of four wrestlers?  Wouldn't it look unfair to see a boxing match with two against one?

Sitting Bull proved this point against Custer 140 years ago. Numbers DO make a difference.

Basketball teams across the nation are limited to the same number of players on each team, so why can't football teams do the same?

Well, that's what Kansas teams have to deal with when they play out-of-state teams.  I would like to see what would happen, if ANY other state team that plays a Kansas Juco team would be required to suit up no more than 55 players as do the KJCCC teams.  I know what would happen.......Kansas would dominate the juco football world.

Re: Butler's schedule

I never will forget; When I was a junior in highschool, a friend of mine was "Goin Steady" with my sister. Another fellow, a 'punkish' type 'boy' had da hots for my sister also. He kept acting all bad and tough, and man, over the phone he was gonna kick Paul's (my friend) a_ _ all over the school parking lot!!

"Over the phone" he wuz gonna tear him a new 'Ear-hole!! Well, outside the gym one night at a basketball game the "fight" was about to take place. Paul and I were sitting in the stands and Jeff came in and told Paul, "Man, that punk's outside and said he's ready to change your air filter if you got the guts to come out 'dair'!! He also said he knows karate!!"

Paul put a chew of Red Horse in his mouth as he and I got up and went outside. Paul told me as he put the tobacco pouch back in his pocket, "I don't need ya."---but, I went anyway; if for nothing else, just to watch this snot-slingin-sideshow......cause that's what it was gonna be. Everybody KNEW the punk was all talk mouth and nuttin more. He had listened to his buddy Mark pumpin him up for this(u know, kinda like the pollsters), but there was nothing to him. ALL SHOW and false propaganda.

We got out there and when they came face-to-face, the punk got all scared and started asking the stupidest questions: "How old are you?" "Wait now, how tall are you?" "How much fighting experience have you had?" It was really silly. Paul didn't really want to, but did it simply to teach him a lesson; and he popped him bout 7 times before he even saw Paul's fist comin. disbeliefwink

It never ceases to amaze me; the type excuses you boys come up with. "Ah, ah, our...our #1 lineman's finger was hurtin! He bit the nail to the quick the night before!" "Oooh, the refs cheated! They just flat out took that game from us!" "Oooh, yall's receiver ...!.......He, he he....He wa, wa, was....he was pushin off! He wuz a Bully!"

And now.....You GOTTA BE KIDDIN ME!! "It's not fair!! They got more-dann-we do!" Are you kiddin me!!??
Mississippi can't dress out ANY MORE players than Kansas can. If I'm not mistaken, it's 53. I don't remember Texas dressing out no-100-da_n players.....Maybe so, I don't recall....but when it comes down to it, your best 30 are just that! The best.....and can last a game's length.

That's about as ridiculous a comment I've ever heard from the jayhawk.."We'd Dominate juco football if we could dress 100!!" eek "Custer proved the numbers point!!" eek

GET REAL DUDE.....................................Bless ya heart   disbelief

Re: Butler's schedule

When Coffeyville played Georgia Military at Georgia a few years back, they suited up 85 guys.  I know.  I was there.  I counted them.  When Coffeyville played one of the Texas teams a couple of years ago in Texas, they suited up 103-105 players.  It was hard to get an exact count, but they roughly had that many.  I didn't go to that game, but several Coffeyville fans did and that's what they told us when they got home  You get real........dude..

Re: Butler's schedule

So you're saying players 56-85 will make a difference in a competitive game? How often does a 3rd or
4th string player actually see the field?

To break it down - You can only have 11 players are on the field at a time, backupus will make 22, 3rd string will make 33. So for both sides of the ball that equals 66... Do you think the TX JC's have a 3rd string Right Guard, or third string Right CB, or do you think they have a guy that can play both spots? After the 2-deep at every position, take 1 OL, 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 QB, 1 DL, 2 LB, 2 DB = 55

Position Breakdown: OL (11), WR/TE (10), RB (4), QB (3), DL (9), LB (8), DB (10) . Highly doubt Butler's 12th best OL or 11th best DB would make a difference.

The TX, MS, AZ schools would still be just as good if they had a roster limit of 55... But they wouldn't cry about it, or use it as a crutch, like the poor ole KS teams.

Re: Butler's schedule

We DO have that roster limit. Hell man, we can't suit up no 70 sumpm players! Don't need to anyway, basically for the same point u just made. But, if we're playing a Kansas team we just DON'T NEED um..piratecool

Re: Butler's schedule

You know SOS if you think the Jayhawk is so weak then why are you always trolling our message board? Slumming it or are you just a wanna be? Nothing better to do? I bet I could find your same rantings on other message boards with your cute little crazy faces. I don't care how many players are on the roster. We are still an excellent team and we still win. You don't see many teams willing to play a nationally ranked team at the beginning of the year which could make or break your season. Better to risk losing to a good team any day and face a challenge than roll over a no name. Kansas vs Texas is set up where our end of season #1 plays their #1 in a two year deal. 2 plays 2, 3 plays 3, etc. It is a challenge and we like it. You want in on it? We will play your #1. Get your conference to arrange it. Maybe you could teach us something or maybe after we beat you down we wouldn't have to listen to your silly little rantings anymore. Have you ever played football a day in your life? Doubted. The crazy faces give it away. Can't wait to read your response. I am sure it will be filled with plenty of those emotional little faces.

Re: Butler's schedule

1. I "troll" for a couple of reasons; neither of which would you grasp the concept.

2. You won't find my "rantings" on other message boards.

3. You (butler) ARE an excellent team; For Kansas......"Good" team for the njcaa.

4. It's not that Butler is "willing".........Troy didn't call up Navarro's coach or Blinn's and say, "I'm dying to play you." That's something that was put together years ago by the administration's (AD's) and the like from the 2 Regions.

5. You contradict yourself in line #8....."Rolling over a no-name? Sure, Southwest, MS.Delta, etc are not popular teams........nor are they Great teams very often. However, SW 'or' Delta in their bad years would destroy your Dodge and Independence in their great years........and YOU KNOW IT.

6. Lanes, or Lame (whatever) I was already being scouted by 3 D-1 schools when I was a freshman, playing Jr.High; ....You have NO clue where I played, simply because you have neither a clue who I am.

7. pirate cool pirate disbelief bored1 bored1 bored1 cool rolleyes pirate bored1 eek1 noidea noidea disbelief bored1 rolleyes cool cool cool cool cool cool
