The fan base at Coffeyville is very good, as most of the Jayhawk schools will attest. When Coffeyville comes to their towns for the games, they usually bring a large crowd to support the team (when they have a winning team). The school has the money to get a quality coaching staff. And lastly, they are really tired of not being in first place. Look for anything to happen.
Man, you guys are deluded. Troy is being paid quite well for a JUCO coach. Any incremental improvement would likely be matched by Butler's boosters, and wouldn't be enough to sway him to leave anyway. Hutch probably has more big $ boosters than any other JUCO in the state (function of being in a bigger town, primarily), Hutch has great facilities, great fan support, is close to Wichita for recruiting, and is close to his home town of Buhler If Hutch couldn't lure Troy away from his JUCO alma mater -- and this was before the Champions Training Center was done and the new Stadium was under construction -- then what makes you think he'll head off for CV at the right price?
No way. Write it down, take it to Vegas -- Troy will not leave Butler for any other JUCO program. If it were all about money -- he's had plenty of offers. I think Troy likes the security of his job, likes the community, wants his kids to remain in the same schools, and is very successful. For whatever reason, he has seen fit to continue his domination of JUCO football rather than ascend the ladder.
Furthermore, Steve Braet wouldn't leave Butler for any amount of money or any job, and Troy sure as hell wouldn't leave Butler for a horizontal move without Steve Braet.
This is the dumbest discussion ever. Wishful thinking and rampant homerism run amok -- what a combo.
