i never claimed to be knowledgable of iw's travel costs, equipement expenses, etc. i was just telling south what "operating expenses" are - i don't have an itemized list. the number of athletes in a program is also easily attainable knowledge - not something i made up.

if your only leg to stand on is that i'm making things up, then enjoy that. my question is why do you think i'd just make things up?

I am certainly not disagreeing with you non-regulated scholarships make for a unlevel playing field. Same goes for the different amounts of out of state players.

I do disagree that you took your numbers from a RECRUITING website. The numbers are based on a league average. IW carries 180 athletes in to fall camp, they have to. This is so they can have a travel budget, equipment budget, etc. The program is enrollment driven. So that operating expense is driven much lower then the league average.
I'm sure that IW does have more coaches on the payroll, but look at the number of part time/stipend guys. They have other jobs in the community. Just because they spread the money around does not make their total pot any larger.

Right, like I said take it with a grain of salt. Divide the "operating expenses per team" (133000, if that is an actual or estimated number) by the actual number of athletes (180) and all of a sudden the "opperating expenses per player" drops almost 500 dollars.
I'll ask next time I'm around what the actual amount of scholarship dollars is that they have to work with.

My guess would be books and tuition equate to at least $3000, times their 85 scholarships equals $255000.

And lets not exclude the fact that this site shows that IW has 11 part time assistant coaches, zero full time assistants; while butler has 3 full time assistant coaches and 2 part time (both excluding the head coach) so like I said IW must spread their $ around unlike butler.

Word I'd IW has a shade under $200000 worth of scholarship dollars to work with.
Yes they could potentially full a player, but in comparison to what buco has to offer it doesn't seem feasible that they would put in all that money to a kid. They also stated there are 0 players with full rides on their roster.
