RE: Bowl Games 2012
Just noticed the Brazos Valley Bowl, a new addition for this year. Glad to get another one hosted in TX. Wish there was 2 in MS so that there'd be more inter-conference play for those schools. Maybe Butler will be able to host a bowl in the future now that they have the new stadium and complex.
Bowls by conference:
WSFL - 2 Texas - 2 Kansas - 2 Iowa - 2 Northeast - 1 MS - 1

The TOMB will not be held this year. Snow is looking for a bowl game to play in.

Re: Bowl Games 2012
Interesting that there is no tomb bowl. That's too bad. I liked SLC.
I've wondered about butler hosting a bowl, too. I wouldn't be surprised if the citizens bank bowl is ended soon, since FS is never qualified to host it. Maybe a butler hosted bowl will replace it?

Re: Bowl Games 2012
I'll take a shot at this...
Valley of the Sun Glendale vs. Kilgore
Heart of Texas Navarro vs. Georgia Military
Salt City Hutchinson vs NMMI
El Toro Arizona Western vs Nassau
Carrier Dome ASA vs Snow
Brazos Valley Louisburg vs Garden City
Citizen's Bank Coffeyville vs. Central Lakes
Mississippi Copiah Lincoln vs Northeast Oklahoma
Graphic Edge Ellsworth vs DuPage Iowa Western vs Butler
I am putting this together with the assumption that Mississippi colleges will not travel as per usual. This is also an assumption that all teams are willing to play in a bowl game. Remember, undefeated Grand Rapids (last year) and undefeated Nassau (2010) did not go to bowl games. Without Mississippi traveling there may not be enough teams to fill all of the spots.

NE, it would be interesting to see those very matchups. I doubt anything close will happen, but it would be illuminating to see the results of such pairings.

RE: Bowl Games 2012
There is no way a Minnesota school is playing any team from the Jayhawk. After Butler blitzing Vermilion in '06 and with the lack of fans that showed up from there (maybe 10?), I would think the bowl committees from Hutch and Pittsburg would have better interests than bringing in those scrubs. They want $$ at the gate and Minnesota teams aren't going to bring it.
I've heard rumors of Coffeyville or NEO playing at Pitt -- not against each other, but being one of the teams in the bowl. I've also heard Coffeyville playing in the first Iowa bowl.
I don't see four Jayhawk teams going bowling. It's either Coffeyville or Garden. There's no way both get bids unless teams start bailing out because they don't want to travel. Mississippi teams have been hesitant to travel in the past, but I'd be willing to bet Gulf Coast or East Mississippi go somewhere. I think those two schools have the money to travel if they wanted. Plus there's always the option to just play Copiah-Lincoln again. NEO against any Mississppi school at Pittsburg would be a good game.

Re: Bowl Games 2012
From my understanding, don't expect any Minnesota teams to play in bowl games, especially with the Graphic Edge getting teams elsewhere.
Also, I have heard Mississippi teams don't want to travel unless they are playing for the championship.
I too have heard that Coffeyville will be playing in Iowa in the non-feature game. This is just a guess, but if Coffeyville does not go to Pittsburg, NEO may travel to Hutchinson. The Citizen's Bank Bowl could have a hard time filling its slots without an automatic team playing there.
I'm also guessing Garden City goes to a bowl, possibly Valley of the Sun.
Two other WSFL teams got their sixth wins, including Mesa and NM Military, which opens up some possibilities.
My guesses (most of them uneducated):
Graphic Edge Butler vs. Iowa Western Ellsworth vs. Coffeyville
Mississippi Copiah-Lincoln vs. Snow
Heart of Texas Snow vs. Navarro
Salt City Mesa vs. Hutchinson
Citizen's Bank DuPage vs. NEO
El Toro Nassau vs. Arizona Western
Valley of the Sun Garden City vs. Glendale
Brazos Valley New Mexico Military vs. Kilgore
Carrier Dome ASA vs. Georgia Military

Re: Bowl Games 2012
Maybe South could start a fund drive and raise some money so one of those Mississippi teams could come out and play Arizona Western, Hutch or a Texas team.

Re: Bowl Games 2012
NEO, with their old coach back, will be a handfull for someone. Them playing in Pittsburg should draw a nice crowd. I will probably go to that one. Coffeyville and the runner-up Iowa team, in the warmup game for Butler/Iowa Western is a good fit. Hutch will have a good bowl game, no matter who they play. Looking forward to next year already. I must be sick.

I don't know about everywhere else, but #4 Snow College vs. #3 ASA College in the Carrier Dome Bowl is official...

here's some pretty concise feedback on your bowl thoughts, LINK HERE Irish2009 "you also thought MGC was the best team in the nation" False: Never once said MGC was best team in the nation, you might have me confused with someone else... I don't think I have ever made a statement claiming any team from MS to be the best in the nation. I have said that the MS conference is superior to the jayhawk, and most MS would win in KS... But being able to run through the Jayhawk, and being the best, are two different things.

Re: Bowl Games 2012
A selection committee will evaluate teams for individual selection. The proposal is based on at least one participating team selected from the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference. The selection for that participant will be based on the following priority of criteria: - Minimum of six regular season wins and post-season qualification.
- Potential for spectator attendance and gate proceeds.
- National Ranking.
- KJCCC final finish.
The other selected participant may also be a KJCCC team, but the selection criteria will include: - Minimum of six regular season wins.
- Potential for spectator attendance and gate proceeds.
- National Ranking.
- Program tradition
I am sure that they can choose whom they want but if NEO were to play in this game and they follow the selection criteria it would have too be a KJCCC team they face.. I guess you take what you can get with a local team. Could be interesting.

As for your opinion that most teams from MS would win in the KS conference, I take that with about as much credibility as that other guy's opinion. Until there are proven results then it's just chatter.
