Good News for Bakersfield fans

Good News for Bakersfield fans

Good news for all Bakersfield football fans. Tim Hyde the former Defensive coordinator has apparently left Ventura College. In my opinion Tim was the best D-coordinator during my years of watching football at VC. Tim was a consummate hard worker, good game planer and good X’s and O guy.

In his 2 years at VC (starting in 2010) in the game at Bakersfield, BC only managed 217 total yards in the game. If not for a total meltdown by VC (led 24-10 after 3 quarters) VC would have won that game.

And of course, in the game last year, BC had a whopping 218 yards (4 turnovers) and got shutout 13-0 in the “bash at the beach”

Bakersfield will not miss lining up against a Ventura defense with Tim Hyde. BC’s offense got dominated for the past 2 years

VC will be filling the position from within.

It seemed like it. All I know is the defense was really good for the 2 years he was there. Time will tell if there will be any drop off with Mr. Hyde gone.

Re: Good News for Bakersfield fans

I let this go the last time, but now that you've done it twice, I guess I'll reply.

I have a little bit of a problem with paying for access to a site where FINALLY we have achieved a level of civility and then logging in to read advertisements for another site where "anything goes".

See, there are two groups. One wants to talk about JC football. The other wants to play grab-ass. Each group now has their own site. I don't mean to say that people can't or shouldn't go back and forth between sites, but the pretending to want to talk football here and then throwing in your little advertisement seems to me to be pushing it.

I will not be going where "anything goes" because I'm not much for lies, name calling, egotistical blatherings and so on. This site has been cleansed of that element, and for me, at least, it's a resounding "good riddance". I would encourage anyone who goes in for "anything goes" to go there and talk about anything but football. I won't be going there because I know how websites make money. They achieve a certain number of eyes on their content and then they sell advertising. Yes, Facebook has over 900 million subscribers worldwide and those subscribers are worth billions in advertising dollars.

So tell us, who besides the two moderators stands to make (or lose) some money here?

Re: Good News for Bakersfield fans

I have no idea what you are talking about.

My post was about Tim Hyde who left Ventura and who also happens to be friends with Kevin. Thats all my post was about.

It was also a tougne in cheek joke about how well VC"s defense had limited the Bakersfield offense the last 2 years. I guess if joking is not allowed here anymore, someone with some authority will let me know.

Your attempt to hijack the thread was not called for. This kind of message should be off line. I can give you my phone number as well if you want to discuss also.

I sent you a private message:

From JC Kev:  I am deleting posts left and right for a variety of reasons. One big reason is 'hijacking' legitimate threads. Someone may post a serious question worthy of conversation but them someone jumps in and makes an irrelevant comment, which sends the thread on an unrelated tangent

Re: Good News for Bakersfield fans

I don’t have a dog in this fight.  BUT, I must come to RefHeker’s defence…

I see nothing out of line with what he said

I too like it both ways (stay focused).  I enjoy some, NOT ALL,

of the banter and fun.   It helps fill the time before the season

starts.

However, I NEED and THRIVE on the serious input (with a bit

of  proper fun thrown in), which I hope will start soon!

So, there you go …….COLOR ME a both ways type of GUY!

PS I must say, however, this site has been a bit slow – but the

season is a comin’

What a difference a good coach can make.  Where is Tim Hyde headed?

In the 2010 BC vs. Ventura game at BC, I was noticing that your defensive front 7 was pretty stout.  I think your QB Simms lost that game for you.  BC probably wanted to shut down that cocky little guy more than beat Ventura (yes Simms was a great athlete - how did he do the last couple of years?).  Last year VCC just flat shut our O-line down (as did almost everyone else).

The O-line will be the first place I look this year when gauging what kind of season BC will have.  We have a couple of great running backs and a good QB coming back.
We always seem to find some good receivers and generally have a good D.  But without a decent O-line, all of the above means nothing.

I am hoping the SoCal board will be pretty decent again without all of the insanity.  We have a few teams well represented already.  It’s good to see BLUE ANGELS and rounders back for ELCO.  It sounds like ELCO isn't planning on just handing RCC or Mt SAC the Central crown.  It will be interesting to see if we get any of the better Mt SAC posters back (or if they all follow MM); it would make for a better board.

GO GADES!

GO GADES!
Hyde is at Crespi High in the Valley

The front 7 were very good the last 2 years

Simms had like 300 yards in the first half at BC and then the second half he filled up his "depends" and embarrised himself and the fans of VC. He is at washington(i think)after redshirting there last year

I also hope the website is good with lots of diversity and teams represented....enjoy and look forward to seeing if the VC/gades game will be as good as it has been the last 4-5 years

Re: Good News for Bakersfield fans

Sorry if I came on too strong there. As I said, I like you and appreciate the friendly offline conversations we've had in the past.

What I don't like is that on day one, you started a thread titled, "Let's have a tell all of the JJ and Mountieman feud". What is that? I think that everyone here has heard all we want about that. If I wanted to subject myself to even more lies, embarrassment and public humiliation, I guess I'd go to your new site. But I don't. Further, I'm not participating in anything that would make that guy a nickel.

Pushing another site by posting on this site with a tagline of "there is a place where almost anything goes" just doesn't seem right to me. Everyone knows what that means and I think that by now everyone knows where to find it.

So peace, RefHeckler. As I said before, you and me are all good. Just don't use me to raise interest for the other site. I've been violated enough and would like for it to stop.

And BCFan, I'm glad you're having fun here and there. If you'd have been around last season and this winter, you'd see where I'm coming from. I'm a regular pro at the friendly banter, but some people just don't know how to be friends.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled football discussion.

Fair enough JJ.....I had not followed the "hatfields and the Mcoys" family fued very much and didnt realize it was such a big deal but was looking to find a little info......banghead

I changed my signiture twice now as it is very surprising to me what bothers some people....disbelief

As I have stated before, there should be room for more than one site, in fact I am now aware of at least 3 of them and I welcome all of them and if they are all worthwhile in my humble opinion then I will support all of them. I am not a big fan of any type of censorship.....

Good luck to you and yours next season......piratepiratepirate

Re: Good News for Bakersfield fans

I'm not a big fan of any site that does not police itself. This is the Internet and it can be accessed by players, coaches, parents and fans. When some poster's ego becomes more important than promoting the players and the sport, then there is definitely something wrong.

In the real world, it's called slander and libel. On the Internet, it's people "just having fun".

I'm very happy that there is more than one site now. Maybe the egomaniacs will stay off of this one for good.

JJ, I looked through the 25 pages of topics ( I know, it's a very very slow day for me - with the GADES not playn')......did not find a "tell all about JJ & MM".... that's not to say it's not there, I just didn't find it.

What I did find were a lot of VERY good posts from you about FOOTBALL! until now that is!banghead

I am one of THOSE people "just having fun" - I call it YANKn' someones chain - and yes I get my chain yanked also.    That's NOT SLANDER AND LIBEL. That is called having fun

It looks like at 8:33a or so RefHekler tried to apologized, but you just had to keep it going....so my conclusions are as follows:

1) you are the egomaniac -  stop it - NOW
2) keep your (good) post about the game coming - leave the fun to those who know how
3) I will not stay off this site - this BCfan needs to be ed-u-k-did about "todays" JC football
4) you keep this kind of stuff up and I'm sure I will not be the only one ignoring you
5) this topic has lost it's relevance - let's ALL just move on!
6) I guess I do (did) have a dog in this fight after all

I'm finished now, JCKevin

Re: Good News for Bakersfield fans

I started thinking about how some, no, many, people believe that their constitutional rights allow them to post whatever they want, irregardless of the fact that 99% of us know that what they write is indecent, in the least, and may even be defamatory under the law. Personal vendettas against coaches, other posters, heck, even players, has led some to write things even on this board that made the rest of us just shake our heads at the callousness of these individuals. It makes us all wonder where the justice is and how these individuals, who obviously have no moral compass, will be held accountable for their actions. Do we really have to wait until Judgement Day for them to face the consequences?

So I fired up the old Google machine, and, well, of course, there is a rapidly growing and constantly changing field of law focused on Internet defamation cases. I decided to share this as a reminder to all to be careful what you say. You might just find yourself fighting a lawsuit.
