"I still have four years of eligibility left. I redshirted at Utah, but I ended up coming back to California to play here," he said.

The 6'4', 225 lb. prospect graduated from Redlands (Calif.) East Valley High School in 2010 and says that he's "always had the arm to play quarterback." Now that he's back in his home state, Shreve has set some goals for his time at Riverside.

"Obviously, trying to get another scholarship is the main thing. You always have to keep working. Footwork is a big thing; everywhere you go, there are different changes to feet, like at Redlands East Valley to Utah to here, so you're always learning. Football is about knowledge, knowing what the both the offense and defense are doing. I'm just trying to stay on top of schemes and defenses schools are running," he said.

Shreve, who's pretty much always played quarterback, has thrown for a few of the college coaches that have come out, but is looking forward to the season to showcase his ability.

"A few coaches have come by and I've met a couple of coaches, but nothing big yet. I'm interested in the Pac-12 and I'd love to stay in California, but I'm open to anybody. I just love playing the game and I think we're going to do great things here next season," he said.

The signal-caller is excited for the opportunity to take the field this fall and showcase his arm and other talents on the field.

"It's just the thrill of playing the position; every time you score a touchdown, everyone's eyes are on you. It's a great feeling; I love having the ball in my hands. There's nothing better. I think some of my strengths are being able to extend the play, get out of the pocket, and I'm able to get the ball to where it needs to be, making something out of nothing," he said.

Ultimately, he's happy with his decision to play for the Tigers and foresees a bright future for the nationally ranked team.

"We're just going to keep training and working on plays. We're getting better, but we're working on perfecting everything so we can go undefeated. That's what we're trying to do here, bring another National Championship to Riverside, that's our goal," he said
