Re: Weekly Picks 10/30 - 10/31
IAMHANKUS Tonight's games can't be much scarier than last weeks when I managed to cobble out a 22-11 record. I managed an 8-8 in the topsy northland. Didn't hear anyone else bragging about their record so we must have all fallen together. LANEY BUTTE SAN MATEO over CCSF in a humungus upset FOOTHILL, but it's a tossup REEDLEY DELTA at home FRESNO at home CHABOT, will get one right on them sometime MODESTO SISKIYOUS AMERICAN RIVER at home REDWOODS SHASTA DEANZA MONTEREY SAN JOSE PASADENA HANCOCK BAKERSFIELD CERRITOS CHAFFEY MT. SAN ANTONIO FULLERTON, with just a smidgon more offense SADDLEBACK SANTA ANA GOLDEN WEST HARBOR VICTOR VALLEY SOUTHWESTERN, maybe SANTA BARBARA, ditto EAST LA ANTELOPE VALLEY PIERCE

Re: Weekly Picks 10/30 - 10/31
I doubt that BC and Elco would hook up in the first round. Maybe the second round, and if both teams win out, it might be in Torrance, not Bakersfield. But hey, the rankings have been strange all year. BC wins a game by 6 TDS and went down in the poll. It will be interesting to see where they place Elco now after a loss. They should still be in the top 4, IMHO. But hey, the only influence the poll has is on who gets to play at home, not who gets in and there are still some big matchups left.

Re: Weekly Picks 10/30 - 10/31
Not really gadesrule. Bakersfield has always received plenty of respect. The poll seems to be taken weekly without a lot of thought put into it, until the last two weeks. Then I would assume there is lots of politicking for the last two. Coaches will be jockeying for a home game to open up the playoffs. In fact, last year, for no apparent reason, BC was ranked number one at the beginning of the season. Then Chudy suffered his worst record ever. Butte was ranked #1 at the beginning of this season, the reason was the same, the previous years outcome. As we all know, nothing changes faster in football than JC football. What you did last year does not guarantee success. If the Gades beat COC, they will definitely open up at home in the first round in the Golden Empire Bowl. Even if they are upset by COC, they will most likely still start off at home anyway.
