You know, Gadesrule will say you just guaranteed a championship for the Tigers. Now the rest of us know that you didn't BUT are you willing to go the next step and claim that this will be the year of the Tiger?

In your mind I'm sure.  BUT there are 12 BIG games on the road to getting there.  And - as Tiger fans found out last year - the last two games are must wins.  Based on RCC's last 2 years performance and with apparently quite a few returners from last year's team, you might have as good a chance as anyone.

No one team made the playoffs both of the last 2 years.  In this JC football fans mind and with the exception of BC - that's a good thing!

GO GADES! 2014

Re: Is RCC the favorite to win SCFA championship this year?

Yes, the tigers have a lot of returners on both lines. In fact, from I've heard through other sites, their O line is huge!!!! They also have #8 (scout) recruit in the nation, Lio Lafaele, who did not play against Fullerton in the playoff game due to torn ACL.

They're loaded in every position. Who the QB will be is the #1 question. But as we saw last year, that OL can open some big holes for the running backs. Expect huge yards on the ground for the tigers!! They have 15 players with multiple D1 offers!!!

I have read a few of their big studs have signed and left for D1 programs this summer. I do have them making the playoffs though.

What are you talking about? These guys were a Tier 2 team just 3 seasons ago. No way they could compete with the legacy big boys.

I'm not sure where you've read that, but from what I'm seeing, this team is better than 2013!!

It's MSAC and a bunch of teams who just moved up from Tier 2. It's a cakewalk for the Mounties, right GADES fans?

Craftsman2, do you know if Lafaele is practicing? He was supposed to be ready by the end of the summer. Same injury that kept him out of the fullerton game? An ACL can be an injury hard to comeback from. Especially for a really big man.

Re: Is RCC the favorite to win SCFA championship this year?

Felt like thinking this one over for awhile. Yes, Riverside should be the favorite in Southern California. They have the talent, but do they have the discipline?
I don't know if there will be another Fullerton type team this season, but the Tiger's can not give up 1,100 plus yards in 2 games and expect to be champions. Their defensive backs need to be a lot better than they were last year. Yes they had the interceptions, but they also were toasted on several occasions (think Cutbirth and 6 passing scores).
Either way it's five weeks from the opener's, Fall Camp inside of 2 weeks and a very short time until the teams get to feeling chippy. That first game never comes fast enough.

That was last year. This is JUCO. They have re-loaded with CBs.Some are D1 bouncebacks.

I wasn't happy either with their secondary last year. They had a kid that was like 5'4. Great tackler, but got burned every time through the air. I don't know why the coaches had him as 1st stringer.
