I have short posted 3 or 4 times on another site under a different name. But, as Lemon says, my writing DNA finally came out when I saw Butte ranked #2, in that site’s final top 30 national poll, above BC at #4. Most posters agreed (including a Butte fan) and no one tried to defend Butte at #2. This is basically what NCoast already said, only in a lot more words;
*Based on the SCFA end of regular season rankings for SoCal and NorCal:
Both Butte and BC played 3 unranked teams.
Number of Top 5 wins? Butte - 2 North. BC - 2 South +1 North.
Losses? Butte 1 - Lost to #5 (8-3) DeAnza (35-25)--BC 2 - Lost to #1 MtSAC (14-34) and #2 Ventura (24-30 4OT)
Games Played? Butte – 11 and BC - 13
Post Season Win(s)? Butte - 1 Bowl victory (35-17) over #5 in NorCal Fresno (8-3)
Post Season Wins – BC - 3:
SoCal playoff win (48-8) over undefeated #2 in SoCal Ventura (10-0)
SoCal Championship win (30-21) over undefeated #1 in SoCal Mount SAC (11-0)
CA State Championship win (35-14) over once defeated (by Butte) #2 in NorCal CCSF (10-1)
Common Opponents? Butte 31 CCSF 21 (10 points)------- BC 35 CCSF 14 (21 points)
Anybody? WHY is Butte ranked #2 and BC #4 in the final top 30 poll. Butte ranked #2 over BC #4 is indefensible based on the facts.
