From the Californian, BC’s DE #11 Keylon Hollis and TE #85 Mike Dunn were named All American. Hollis was one of the best athletes I’ve seen in a good while – there was just no quit in this guy.
And a well deserving Jeff Chudy was named Coach of the year. I had always maintained (back in the Mountieman days) that Chudy, given Mt SAC’s talent, could put together a championship team too. But after 4-6 last year and a 2-2 start this year, I admittedly jumped off of the Chudy bandwagon 1 year too soon. The talent stars lined up for BC in 2012. What a storybook year for The Big Red.
Other Region IV standouts were WR #6 Marquise Johnson (F) and #2 QB Brian Burrell. I can see Burrell as Fresno States starting QB – especially if he can get credit for his 2 game injury season last year.
Go Gades!Edit: I (and the Californian) left out two other BC region 4 standouts, RB Jalen Sykes (Garces - Bks.) and DB Mercy Maston (One of our trio of great DBs from Bakersfield HS)

Agreed on both. Oglesby for sure I can’t believe got left out. He was one of the two main pillars of BC's defense (MVP of the CCSF game) and between him and Hollis will be the hardest players to replace on next year’s D. Grant Campbell too, but he is a for sure for next year. I know in HS ball, politics is often involved in the choices. I’m not saying I know this is the case, but even a great player that makes it hard on his HC or position coach can find out at the end of the year that paybacks are a bitch.
