Craftsman2,
The last time I checked BC and AH were/are in the north!
National “NORTHERN” conference
I cannot speak to Allan Hancock’s history….but I can sure
speak to BC’s RICH history playing SoCal teams.
In 1930 we played Long Beach, San Bernardino and Glendale
In 1933 we played Long Beach and LA City
In 1935 we lost to UCLA (freshman team)
In 1936 we lost to UCLA (freshman team), tied Long Beach and
lost to LA City
In 1947 the Metropolitan Conference was established. And BC continued
playing mostly SoCal teams in that conference
In 1950 the CCCAA- Western States Conference was established for Southern
California
Allan Hancock College
Bakersfield College
College of the Canyons
Citrus College
Cuesta College
Glendale College
LA Mission
Los Angeles Pierce College
Los Angeles Valley College
Moorpark College
Oxnard College
Santa Barbara City College
Santa Monica College
Ventura College
West Los Angeles College
In 1980 the Metropolitan Conference included: BC, ElCo, Long Beach, Pierce,
Pasadena, Taft and LA Valley
In 1984 the Pac-9 Conference included BC, Cerritos, ElCo, Fullerton, Golden
West, Long Beach, MtSac, Pasadena and Taft
In 2008 the SCFA replaced the Western States Conference and continues today
BC has been a member in good standing of SoCal football since the 1930’s –
Win or lose we have a quality program that adds to the SoCal experience
BTW
Grossmont to BC 238 miles 4 hr
Grossmont to Santa Barbara 225 miles 4 hr
MtSac to BC 136 miles 2 hr 21 min
MtSac to Santa Barbara 122 miles 2 hr 11 min
Riverside to BC 163 miles 2 hr 47 min
Riverside to Santa Barbara 149 miles 2 hr 39 min
So if YOU are to move BC and AH out of SoCal……
Why not Santa Barbara and VC?????
Ps what about the desert teams: Desert, Victor Valley and Antelope Valley…
are they SoCal????
Perhaps YOU could form a league of YOUR own with these 7 teams and call it
