three point streak

three point streak

Is anyone aware of this record I found on wiki?  Is it legit?

In the men's college game, three programs have made at least one three-point goal in each game since the rule was adopted universally for the 1986-87 season (as of 2/11/08)[3]:

UNLV currently holds the NCAA record for most consecutive games with a made three-pointer. Additionally, due to experimentation in the Big West Conference from 1982 through 1986, the Runnin' Rebels have made at least one three-point field goal in 684 of 695 games in which the rule was used. The last time UNLV failed to make a three-pointer was January 25, 1986 against Long Beach State.

Other programs with current streaks of consecutive games with at least one three-point goal made include (as of 2/11/08)[4]:

However, these schools have not made a three-point goal in every game the program has played since the rule was adopted in 1986-87.

Yes the streak is legit.  Anytime we play a game on national tv the announcers figure out a way to work that stat in.

I remember at Air Force two years ago sweating that baby out. Kevin Kruger finally hit one with about two minutes to go to keep the streak alive. Rebels were 1 of 18 on treys that day and still only lost by six, 56-50.

Man, I could have sworn there were games we went without a 3.  Do you think the whole team tries hard to keep alive, or might some players not even be aware of it?

I think they know about it. It's one of those things in the back of your mind, but not talk about. It's like a sportscaster saying how good a particular person is at shooting FT's ... then he clanks one before the sentence is over.

I think I've said more than I should already.

I'm sure the players are well aware of it. It's in the weekly media release as well as the media guide.

I remember the AirForce game very well, by the end of this game I didn't care if we won or not as long as we hit a three to keep the streak alive.  When Kruger hit the three I was about as excited as I was when Terry hit the game winning three pointer against SDSU last year.
