Greg Garmon

Was arrested for attempted armed robbery.  He was an Iowa football player that left the program.

Wow. He was a huge signing. 4* RB that was big and fast. This is sad if true.....and I am not doubting you. It always saddens me when someone is given so much talent and throws it down the tubes.

EDIT:
Short article

It is truly amazing how the decisions you make, which seem non monumental at the time, turn out to be huge.

I am pretty confident had he remained in the program he would not have been facing this dilemma.

Attempted armed robbery is not just a little character flaw. Even had he stayed at Iowa,it is unlikely he could have stayed out of trouble.

I do not know the facts. Sometimes it is a case of being mixed up with the wrong crowd. Had he stayed at Iowa he would certainly have been with a different crowd.

But who knows. You could be right.

Re: Greg Garmon

The article stated the attempted robbery resulted in a foot chase. Does this mean a donut-eating cop managed to run down a 4* running back?

Sad on many levels.....

Anyone remember why he left the program? Was he the RB that came out of Maryland following Coker?

From Erie PA. It was Davis's first year, so bad offensively, and he was not big an probably did not care for running it up the middle

I seem to remember he was in trouble with the police before he ever got to Iowa.

Re: Greg Garmon

Nothing wrong with being a cop. Just think its funny a RB with 4.4 speed isn't fast enough to out run one!

No bullets needed with this guy....

Re: Greg Garmon

He may always be a Hawk, but if it turns out that he tried to rob someone with a weapon, he did not do a very good job of representing. Lots of Hawks have gone on to make us all proud. So far, it doesn't look like Greg is going to be one of them.
