Ergo, banning an unwelcome poster does not carry the weight of a law, aka a right, or rise to the lelvel of a law enacted by Congress. If azclown is not welcome, then I submit he can be bannned. Those that believe they have the right (which is not a right of free speech) to read azclown's posts can go to another board and read his posts; as Scout has no free speech requirement to provide an Iowa sites' bandwith for anyone. Just an opinion on just the issue of banning, regardless of whether one agrees with the content or not.....frankly the content is moot. Or, like my father used to say when I asked him why, he told me, "because I can". So much for my free speech.

I got banned from Ill board over two years ago for no reason at all. I just checked this morning and I'm still on the outside looking in. I didn't get my day in court, just found guilty and bannished forever.
As for AZ, take him or leave him, he does not make or break my day.

What's funny is that my threads are clearly marked with my name...and the subject is always rather obvious. And yet those who most frequent such threads, apparently finding them irresistible, are the quickest to call for a banning. Try this, if you don't like me or the topic I've started, just don't enter the thread.
Many enjoy these topics and I've gotten a number of positive messages from THIS board asking me to keep posting items related to expansion (among other things)...yet, as happens all too often...the petty and shallow types cannot simply leave others to discuss things they find interesting, nope, that's not good enough. They must dictate to others what they can say, and read on the board...and that says a lot about who they are.
As long as I don't make a thread "personal" or have anything negative to say about the Hawkeyes (who I root for any time they aren't playing ISU), why the heck would anyone care what I'm talking about? Its so easy to avoid if you're a mature adult who believes people have a right to talk about what they want, rather than about what you approve of.

I think he's full of s*** pretty much all of the time, has been consistently wrong on all the conference realignment stuff, and is living in a fantasy world when it comes to ISU football. But he's never disrespectful to the Hawks and he takes all the crap we Iowa posters give him like a grown up.

AZ is annoying with his expansion stuff but I can live with it...no problem. Other than that...I find he is always respectful of other posters so I don't see a need to ban him.

AZ and I have had our go arounds over the years. He's called me boorish and tried to impress me with a littany of personal achievements that mean nothing to me. He is a total ISU homer, but having said that, I don't believe that banning him is the right thing to do. If you don't care for his posts, there is this handy little feature known as the "ignore" button. I would encourage the OP to use it where AZ is concerned if he is causing you this much grief.
We can't fire Ferentz for another 4 years because of his buyout. But we can sure as hell get rid of our worthless coordinators and AD!!

AZ hasn't broken any rules and doesn't take dissenting views personally. So while his obsession with passing on realignment "insider" info from a mysterious blogger is quite annoying he still doesn't deserve to be banned. People who start threads asking for people to be banned should be banned. What a waste of space.

Good point that this is a privately owned message board... so I guess the owner doesnt mind what most of us post on the board.
I still dont get the banning of someone just because you don't like what they post or their topics. There are a lot of people on here that are disrespectful of others just because of what they post or their topics.
Anyway...regardless of how the BIG expands, I just hope the Hawks can return to respectability and remain competitive for BIG titles.
