Our standards are low compared to what Les is facing at LSU. All the AD wants is to be in the hunt for a national title every year. The pitch forks and hangmen nooses will be out in force is he goes 7 - 5 or even 8 - 4 in successive seasons.

Too bad this thread turned into an ISU/Iowa stinkfest.

On topic, I am hopeful that Ferentz can "turn it around", but that is it. In recent years, I was optimistic that a good or great season was probable, but have been disappointed in regards to my preseason expectations.

This year, I was thinking 6-6 at worst...more disappointment.

It really hit me this morning when I searched for upcoming bowl games and realized that "IOWA" was not on the list of some 68 teams across the country whose names were listed.

Unfortunately, Ferentz has set the bar of "turning it around" at 7-5. A winning season and a lower tier bowl game will put a small smile on my face next year. The benchmark shouldn't be that low, and I really have my doubts at this point that I will be smiling at all. All I have is HOPE.

Edit: When I posted this, I was thinking that I was on the "Ferentz turning it around" thread, hence the "On topic" comment.  My bad.

Myself and Gable are just the opposite. We wrestled at ISU in their glory years and are now of course hawk fans. When ISU is not playing Iowa I root for them. The same goes for UNI. I also will be at Carver,but will be watching the ISU game when I get home.
