Its a Twitter update by a pretty credible source so my thoughts were that it's new, besides he said "update". I wish I could say for sure, but as is I am pretty sure it's new. If not then that guy needs to stop useing Twitter. I hope the details come out quick because this thing will grow a mind of it's own without any.

Second incident in a year. They should offer Skibinski personally I think hes better and they would not have a moment of trouble out of that kid.

I have held out long enough on saying anything about this kid but at this point I figure what the heck. In no way is Young a 4 star prospect as 247 has him. He is much closer to the 2 star per scout IMO. Sure he can run. He is tall but way to lanky. Not much of a hitter also. Could he add on bulk and muscle? I suppose but it's gonna take Doyle awhile. He is built more like a basketballer than a footballer.

And yes I have seen him play. Multiple times I might add. He is a project more so than a saviour. Much like are current D. I hope Young can make it to campus and proves me wrong and becomes an all B10 performer but I am not convinced he will or can do either.

Thanks Tingy! I haven't seen him play and was wondering about the different ratings on the kid. I like 247 alot but they tend to put too much into speed.

Thank you for the insight Tingy. He was one of the recruits, that on paper, looked like he could make a huge impact early based on size and speed. I am back on earth.

Maybe that is why out coaches like him - because of his speed and potential upside. 

You take a slow, unathletic kid, have him lift weights for 5 years, and now he's just a big, slow, unathletic kid (see this year's defensive line).

I've never seen the kid play, nor have I seen any video of him, so I have no idea what type of player he is.  

I'm dating myself, but when I was at Iowa, I used to play basketball all the time with Merton Hanks.  He had to be the skinniest person I've ever seen.  But his flexibility and athleticism were off the charts.  He could bend and contort his body in ways that would make an femaile Olympic gymnast jealous. 

Hoping this kid has some of the same attributes.  And hoping he does some growing up.  Quickly.

I am sure the potential of turning his size and speed is the reason he was given the scholly. But like I said he has a lot of maturing to do both physically and mentally. He lacks some serious decision making in the head. This latest arrest does not look good. He and 11 others were arrested at an abandoned house at 2 a.m. for tresspass. Cops were called because of loud music and stated there was marijauna odor. My guess is KF will have to pull his offer. Kid had a full ride to a great school and can't get it thru his head to find other friends and make better decisions. Sad.

FWIW. His own teammates used to describe Trevon in one word. LAZY.

And Post I completely agree with your assesment on this years D-line. That group is so slow and got manhandled week after week. I have been pretty outspoken about that all year and unless our red shirted freshmen are ready to go next season it's gonna more of the same. But heck the entire defense is litterd with below average talent.

Sounds like the Iowa staff is hitting the recruiting trails hard.
