If a decent NFL franchise hired Ferentz, their fan base would have a meltdown that makes ours look like nothing.

RE: Ferentz NFL stock is going down
At the college level, Kirk likes to keep control of this players. If they get out of line he either dismisses them from the team or benches them. At the NFL level he would have no control of any of the players (maybe kickers). They would walk all over Kirk. He is not fit to coach at the NFL level. He'd be better suited as an assistant in the NFL.

I think he has proven that he doesn't care about his NFL stock.

Hell he's making $4 million dollars a year here and has job security that the NFL could never offer him. Realistically he doesn't even have to win a game for at least 4 more seasons before the university cold even think about buying him out. Great pay, job security, total control, don't have to yield results. What possible motivation would he have to look somewhere where he would be held accountable?
We can't fire Ferentz for another 4 years because of his buyout. But we can sure as hell get rid of our worthless coordinators and AD!!

I doubt the University will let it slide that far, realistically another year like this year and the waters get very rough.

But even when we thought he cared, I think he got way too much credit during those two orange bowl years. We had Norm and host of dominant players. Personally, I don't think KF is remotely suited for coaching at all in the NFL. Supply/admin clerk maybe...but not a coach.

Agreed. If you have no stock to begin with, how can it go down? The last two years, he has had no stock.

surprising that the NFL doesn't want a coach who struggles to deal w/ college player's egos, has a 2-minute offense that hasn't scored in like 3 yrs, and still is trying to make up his mind if he wants Ricky Stanzi to spike the ball or call timeout.

We all hate Kirk now... OK? he doesn't win enough, he can't recruit, he's too loyal, he's a scumbag greedy bastard for signing the $4 million per year contract, he's too conservative, he is a horrible in game manager, a horrible clock manager and just hired 2 horrible coordinators who he won't fire either one after their horrible coaching performances after one year.
Along with that he hired his kid and he gets paid $200 K per year this year and the O-line sucks... umm what a minute they didn't and injuries really hurt the O-line this year.
But neither mind any of that and return to the original poster and that Kirk now would never be hired as an NFL coach. You are right!!!! Bingo... he's 14 years out of the NFL and would have to take a pay cut. Who cares now.
Ferentz is going to coach the Hawks in 2013 and quit all your bitching and moaning, whining and complaining.
Pleeeze I'm so tired of these worthless posts... come back in a year if the Hawks don't go bowling.

1) The fact that Ferentz is still getting mention as a candidate by NFL GMs says something.
2) Iowa definitely does have the money to buy out Ferentz if the administration wants to. Iowa makes around $25 million/year from TV alone. Iowa has been in the black for several years now, and it is going to continue to grow profits along with most Big 10 schools. Luckilly the administration is more patient with Ferentz than the fandumb.

Ill bet you're satisfied with results of this average to below **** known as KF's football program. Its morononic posts like this that keep the bitching going. Ticket sales need to faulter, support for this substandard worthless coaching staff needs to end next year! This sham of contract that allows KF to continue is criminal! This coach is pathetic in all phases of the game. Under normal circumstances a coach like KF would have his ass canned by now...just look around the NCAA!! There are better coaches out there! Average and Substandard is unacceptable. Did it ever occur to you that we bitch to wake up the masses. This contract sham should not STAND! THE WORD NEEDS TO GET OUT! Get off of your ivory perch and preach your garbage and denial somewhere else! --------------------------------------------- --- aaronzuriel wrote:

Coach Davis, 1) what NFL GM's? 2) the money made by the football team is used to support other athletic teams, so were going to sacrifice some other sports, correct? PS: as a paying Hawk fan, I don't like to be called dumb...

Ditz65 you are F'ed beyond recognition. I wont even bother. This post has to be the mother of all stupid. Yeah, we are so lucky the administration hasn't taken any action against KF... the scared and careful coach who will undoubtedly will bring us more 2012 seasons under his current contract. The in the black you talk about will change..mark my words.

Bingo +1 Thought the article said in detail why KF has not and would not go; "The first knock any former college coach faces in the league is the question of whether he can deal with adults instead of kids. Every college coach is virtually his own king with the power to dictate the fates of everyone in his program. There are no salary caps, no bloated contracts, no clashes with a general manager over critical personnel moves. It's an indisputably better life, particularly for those who make the kind of coin that men such as Saban ($4.83 million), Texas' Mack Brown ($5.193 million) and Oklahoma's Bob Stoops ($4.075 million) earn annually".

RE: Ferentz NFL stock is going down
The only recent mention about kf and NFL had been with Pioli at Kansas City and Pioli himself is likely going to get fired, so I don't think there is any serious mention of kF and NFL at this time.
