Kirk Herbstreit - "Iowa is the worse team in the B1G"
as he goes ballistic during BCS selection show on NIU being invited over teams like OU, Georgia, A&M given their loss to the Hawks.
Will be a wonderful month of publicity for the Hawks should NIU get the invite.
Happy Holidays to you Kirk. Maybe Santa will bring you a clue for X-mas.

RE: Kirk Herbstreit - "Iowa is the worse team in the
Don't mind Herby saying it out loud. When will KF and Barta take notice? Fact is, this team has been out coached several times if not every time we take the field! A little bad publicity will only aggrivate those in power to motivate KF into pulling his head out of his ass. We are stuck with KF, but Davis needs to go! We haven't had a decent offense in years and we won't until we get an OC that has more to offer than a boring, vanilla offense. See Wisconsin.

Add David Pollock to the list of saying "Iowa was terrible this year!" when talking about NIU losing to the Hawks and their invite to the Orange Bowl.

While NIU did get beat my Iowa they are not the same team at this point and iowa wouldn't stand a chance with them in the third month of the season.

KF you have embarrassed Hawkeye football. Wake up and smell the roses or please pack your bags. You are paid way too much money to be coaching a terrible bottom feeder. At most other schools, you would have been unemployed after last year!

kirbyk70 wrote: but it's not like we're a dog crap team! Not so fast. If not "dog crap", perhaps some other scatological reference would be more suitable. We did look pretty bad at time (most of the time if we are being fair). There was a sliver of hope by playing fairly well against the Huskers, but I am sure glad that we didn't have to play Wisky. They have three backs (Ball, Gordon, White) that are better our best.

We need some national publicity to force this AD and coach to make some changes. Talk about living in your own reality!! They know whats going on but are brazen enough to not give a crap what we think. Good job Herby for calling it like it is!

RE: Kirk Herbstreit - "Iowa is the worse team in the
And KF and staff chose a rb by the name of DeAndre Johnson with a torn acl over James White. Another great decision by the staff to accept a verbal on a kid that wouldn't be able to play that fall over a kid from orlando that wanted to play for Iowa. Would of loved to see James White carry the rock for the hawks. Kid is a stud even in his limited number of carries.
We are worse than dog crap, probably more like pond scum or whale dung like in Shark Tales! "your not a no body, you're a weiner"!

From BSC Bowl Game Champions to worst team in the BIG in 3 years... it's a miracle.
One thing that gets forgotten most of the time in all of these Ferentz discussions are the multi-multi-multi-million-dollor facility upgrades...
Isn't that supposed to quote: "help"? Aren't these amazing new facilities supposed to lure top-notch recruits? Apparently not.

Instead of raising our recruiting bar expectations, KF lowered it. I don't know how much recruiting travel he does, but I am constantly seeing where other head coaches are making HS visits all over the nation. What did KF do during our bye week this year? He went to the Cedar Rapids area (I believe) to see a possible recruit play in an eight-man football game, whereas he could have come here to Florida and watched teams with multiple D1 recruits on their rosters. I think KF has become too complacent and tasks like recruiting are below his pay grade. If he doesn't know how to set up a solid recruiting program, then it is time that Barta hire a consultant to map something out for Iowa football. College recruiting is definitely an indication that the game has passed KF. He has no clue.

Maybe 30 days of having his nose rubbed in the dog crap that was his team, he might discover some pride and start holding his staff and his players accountable. I guess that's the best we can hope for.

Those three great years from 2002-04, and what did KF do to capitalize on that momentum? We ended up with 2005-07 instead. Then 2008/09.. And look where we are now. Nice way to strike while the iron is hot, Kirk.

Re: Kirk Herbstreit - "Iowa is the worse team in the
Iowa was NOT a dog crap team this year! Dog crap is 0-11, 1-11, 2-9 where the team has no chance to win, looses close games and gives up at some point.
There are many DOG CRAP posters and posers on this board.
Kirk streit is dog carp for calling Iowa the worst team in the BIG TEN. First thing by fact they are not. Iowa beat Minnesota and therefore finished ahead of the gophers in the Legends division. Although Iowa didn't play against Illianoy they won 2 more games.
Iowa was a field goal or two winning 4 more frickin games.
I agree 100 percent Ferentz has begun to suck as an in game coach, a clock manager, and someone who will adapt and change given his team, his opponent and the changing college FB landscape.
However this is NOT the worst team in the BIG TEN and you will smell the DOG CRAP when the Hawkeyes really stink it up...

My son played in Florida...and on his team alone there were 6 kids that went D1...out of that they had another 4 that should have went...5 kids ran 4.5 40's or better! Good point...there's so much speed and talent in Fla...

Re: Kirk Herbstreit - "Iowa is the worse team in the
Iowa is not the worst team in the BIG but it has fallen farther, faster than any other team in the BIG. ILL and MINN have been bad for years, so they have very little to pitch to recruits, in order to make their programs better. We on the other hand, have had plenty to sell recruits in order to maintain or even build on the success of 2007/2009. Kirk Ferentz and his staff just haven't done it and THAT is where the DOG CRAP comes in. It's not the players efforts or their character. It's the coaching staff.

Re: Kirk Herbstreit - "Iowa is the worse team in the
The fact that anyone with some credibilty in college football says we are the worst team in the BIG, or that fans have to draw comparisons with iowa to teams like Minnesota and Illinois, is testament to just how badly KF has allowed this program, in short period of time, to flounder and sink into an abyss. We are probably the only fan base in the NCAA to have to endure such a fall from where we were at...and have to accept this disgrace for several years to come.

All I know is I'm missing me some Saturdays full of jumbo set halfbacks getting creamed 2yards behind the line of scrimmage and 30 yard passes for 2 yard gains (if completed).. Iowa football baby! Dynamic, aggressive, take no prisoners KF football. Bring it! Nothing wrong that GD can't fix with a second year.

You folks really don't know what dog crap, dog carp, dog **** really looks and smells like. This team was still so close to a couple of plays, a couple of injuries and a couple six or seven coaching decisions that would see us all applaud Iowa's season and the bowl match up that we should look forward to. Everyone understands that KF needs to get it together or resign after next year if he doesn't. The fact remains this was not a DOG CRAP TEAM!

Close or not, do you consider at all how we actually LOOK? You satisfied with that? We were also close to 2-10... You also like the way Ferentz talks down to fans like we're dog carp? Me too. Yeah, me too. One more thing: Applaud a bowl match up? Half of Division 1 makes it to a bowl these days. You're almost guaranteed an extra game every year if you're halfway decent. I think that even non-Division 1-A wins are now counted toward the 6-win requirement.

Re: Kirk Herbstreit - "Iowa is the worse team in the
Auburn fired chizik. Where we are stuck with our coach. No comparison here. I for one am focusing on KF as a failed coach... not the team. You say we were a couple of plays and six or seven decisions away from having a season we could applaud. Do you realize we could say that about almost all of our average to poor seasons? Why???? Because we have a coach who refuses to dominate other teams in an aggressive manner....why do you think a majority of our games are close against lesser competition? Its because we can't put away these teams due to predictable and weak playing calling. This is one of the biggest constistencies of the Kurt ferentz era to date. You cant let bottom feeder teams hang around, otherwise you eventually get beat and you allow the next weeks competition to breakdown gamefilm and pinpoint the weaknesses.
