An Iowa "homer" fans frustrated vent!
I think Ferentz may be just looking at this team as "learning" and "too young" but what makes me "FRUSTRATED" is that we run the same flippin predictable offense every game no matter the score until the end of this game when Vandy starts to run and we break out a little trickery. What gives and why not use it right after half time? I would have my QB running every time there wasn't a good option open and sometimes just to keep the defense on their toes. I think it may be that more than anything else that is upsetting the fan base. We have a coach that is NOT doing everything he can to win. He is asking the players to leave "it" on the field every game but is he leaving "it" in the "game planning room"? Is he putting them in their best position to win or is he trying to get ready for next season by useing the games as practice by just playing the same plays over and over? I hate to think this but is he trying to get fired and go on a paid vacation? Unlikely I know but it is a crying shame that that thought came to a "Homer fans" mind!
Predictable offense only works when the team playing it knows it and plays it to a high level. We used to say "you know what we are going to do but can you stop it?" Now we barely know what we are doing and the teams know as much as we do! This offense worked at Texas when the WR's were NCAA track champs etc but we aint got none of those in IOWA!!! This offense eventually got the OC fired in Texas a few years after a National Championship.
SORRY BUT I REALLY WANTED TO VENT! -----Man, that didn't even help.
