Nick Saban - "I take full responsibility for not having our
team ready to play and for our performance today."
Kirk Ferentz - "It's not like this has just been a dog crap team." in defense of his 4-6 record vs. the worse schedule in the BCS.
Keep cashing those checks Kirk.

Re: Nick Saban - "I take full responsibility for not having
Speaking of Nick Saban and Alabama I almost made a thread regarding the A&m/Bama game.
Of those you who watched, have you seen a better game in the past 10 years? That was a fantastic game to watch.
Back to the op...
Sad thing is Saban says this and his team played one hellva game

Keep cashing those checks Kirk. Ferentz' actual quote: KIRK FERENTZ: "Real simply they clearly outplayed us in the first half. They were more ready to play emotionally, more ready to play cleaner, more fundamentally sound. You can say it's this, it's that, lunar moon, whatever, but that's coaching. And that's me. Coaching starts with me."

RE: Nick Saban - "I take full responsibility for not
I think it is very fair to question the field results. There is no reason to qustion chacter. The OP was pathetic. You must have been a campaign manager, as it is very far from the truth that all of us could read.

Then the follow up question should be, "why arent you getting your players emotionally and fundamentally ready to play since its your responsiblilty?" But no one ever does and he left the door open. I love how he tries to come out humble and take responsibility until he gets asked a question about it then turns into the arrogant ass he is!

Everytime there was a shot of the Iowa sideline it was very obvious by the look on the players faces that there was a total lack of emotion and excitement. Maybe they are just trying to imitate their headcoach.

In defense of KF, but only on this topic, he stated about the exact same thing.

Re: Nick Saban - "I take full responsibility for not having
Today is the first time I have ever heard KF take responsibility for a loss. Actually naming himself as the person responsible. So, after 13+ years, he's at STEP 1 of solving the problem. Admitting it starts with him. Maybe by 2020, he will admit that things need to change. Maybe.

But that's the thing - NOTHING ever changes. We still make the same mistakes, play the same lame-a.. ball and use the same stupid old plays. The players are still out there looking like robots going through the motions. Remember when James Morris came in and was full of spirit and fire and actually played well? Now, two years on you can barely tell he's there. Ferentz sucks all the life and fire out of these kids - and he has no idea he's even doing it.

RJ you are exactly right. I thought that the polar ice cap was slowly melting when I read that in his transcript. It was historic because it is the only time I have ever heard put any blame on himself. Do you think he has been reading our message board lately?
Let's see what Rudock can do!

Maybe Step 2 could involve coaching up QBs. Then Step 3 would immediately have to be: how to inspire, control and maintain motivation and intensity. And then there's that little book he was supposed to have bought and read after the Wiscy loss in '10. Remember the one on clock management? Must have got lost under the back copies of the Kiplinger Letter and the Louis Rukeyser Report (RIP Mr. R). Ahh...so many things to do. So little time.
