Tanner Miller

Tanner Miller

I'd like to see that experiment end. He is not good. He will make a play every four or five games that kind of gives people something to point to defend him, but he's the classic white Iowa walk on. Kind of tired of the white Iowa walk on, to be honest. I've got nothing against white people, as both my biological parents are white, but the Millers, Donatells, Bigach (is he a walk on? i would hope so) don't really get it done.

I'm also aware that Miller is not actually a walk on. That's kind of the problem, isn't it?!

RE: Tanner Miller

I think he is probably the worst player playing in the games. He was horrific today.

RE: Tanner Miller

Miller seemed to be out of position today more than Morris.  I dont get what the coaches are thinking.  If a player is playing poorly, pull them, no shame in sitting a series or quarter.  At  least they finally pulled Dontell and made Law the starter.

Tanner Miller should not be the starter.  I think he's having a rough season the say the least.

RE: Tanner Miller

Iowa and "white" seems redundant.  Hold on a sec, what happened to the no star rated player that is like cream, rising to the top?  This is just a not so good team on both sides of the ball, so no reason to focus on one of the several players lacking in talent.

classic white iowa walk on?  Now, if you are not sure what racism is. What you just said is. you should be ashamed of yourself. you have nothing against white people, but he is the 'classic white' iowa walk on. stick to football.

Re: Tanner Miller

Miller is just another classic example of the kind of recruiting classes we have had in that to many fall back recruits and walk ons are seeing playing time. This is where the stars don't matter crowd stay in hiding because when you don't get lucky with the Bob Sanders types every year and instead you get to many tanner Miller and Greg Castillo and Tom Donnatells and Dom Alvis' and well the entire recieving corps  minus Davis who was actually a 4 star who didn't live up to those expectations.

This team has way, way to many average to below average playing right now. And IMO that is the head coach's fault for not recruiting better.

Spot on.  Only thing I would add is that the coaching, IMO, is not there either to build up these walk ons, etc.

Apparently you do.  Racist.  Miller has saved Iowa's bacon several times in several games.  I'm not sure what you are looking at.  But it may help if you first removed your head from whatever cavity you have it stored in.

How on earth did you manage to single out ONE player??? I'd like to see a lot of experiments end. Whom ever is responsible for the past 5 recruiting classes, should have to be talked away from a ledge and back inside the very tall building.
Take some of that friggin money you give to Kirk Ferentz and hire a freaking RECRUITER!!!!

There. Thats my rant for the late evening.

Re: Tanner Miller

It is quite easy actually, he's not good. Of course, you are correct, many of his teammates are also not good - particularly, those rushing the QB and never getting to him. This OP wasn't intended to be a mean spirited personal attack, just an objective observation. I don't disagree at all with your general observation re the recruiting classes.

Exactly right, and precisely the point of this OP.

RJ, I posted about this over a year ago. Barta ought to hire a consulting service to review our recruiting practices and make some proactive recommendations. The new approach may start with KF's involvement. I think I read where Fran made the 300 mile trip to Sioux City numerous times to watch Adam Woodbury and Mike Gessel play their HS games. On the other hand during our bye week, KF did get out to see an eight-man player from somewhere in Iowa. However, wasn't there any higher caliber players to watch or weren't there any of our current recruits who would have strengthen their commitment by having the dean of B1G coaches sitting in their stands? We have a long way to go in recruiting and it needs to start by securing our limited number of high profile in-state recruits. We have had three four star recruits over the last three years and they all chose to go out of state! Wake up Barta and get an independent evaluation of our recruiting program regardless if KF is in favor of it or not.
Let's see what Rudock can do!

IDK, if a safety is expected to do all the tackling aren't there other problems with the defense?  Just sayin.....noidea  As stated above, Miller ain't the entire problem here folks.

This thread is a fine blend of fact and stupidity.

According to the OP the only change Barta needs to insist upon is that Ferentz only recruit black kids.

I didn't surmise it from your post.  I said it was "according to the OP" as in Original Poster.
