Who asked the tough questions, Rob? I have a feeling it was you.

I agree.  Tough questions and I give props to Ferentz.  This was the best post-game he's had all year.  Usually he's incredulous when asked a tough question, but today he first started by thanking the fans, then stated that the game came down to coaching and that ultimately comes down to him.

Props.

Like I've said before and always will, I can tolerate losing when the head man acknowledges the problem and commits to getting better.  Up until this game I don't think I've heard that from him.  When someone asked him if Northern Illinois was a wakeup call he asked "I don't know if anyone was sleeping."

Re: Player Interviews, Ferentz Transcript

I gather a couple things from this presser, definitely one of the more candid in recent memory.
1.)  Kirk is seemingly acknowledging the lack of talent on this team, obviously without coming right out and saying it.
2.)  Coach also hinted to calling out the desire of this team in a way.  He finally is putting some of the blame on himself, but from the way I read this he is also letting some of it fall on the players.
3.)  He also seems to be possibly a little disgusted with G.Davis, his playcalling, his philosophy?, and potentially the overall system itself.  If after 10 games these guys are not getting it, are they ever?

All in all just an observation, but this has been a much more telling press conference in memory.  Obviously he realizes things are not good, and is admitting it.  Is he getting pressure from above?  I'm not sure, I doubt it but I am hopeful.

Talent goes back to a severe lack of emphasis on recruiting by KF himself! He couldn't have picked a worse OC for this team. GD needs an athletic QB to run his system, there isn't one on the TEAM!! This is all on KF who lacks intensity and drive, poor excuse for a coach!

It's time for KF to go. 14 years is enough. Like the old coach ball coach says, "12 years in one place is long enough."

This is so true. Our recruiting process is broken. Maybe KF could hire Fran to head up football recruiting!
Let's see what Rudock can do!
