IN OTHER NEWS!
Eleven of the, twelve finalist have been announced for the 2012 US WOMENS BASKETBALL OLYMPIC TEAM(NO LINK ON CELL). Notable abscense of Cappie Pondexter is very suspect, while five of the eleven named are you got it, FORMER UCONN PLAYERS. Four of the players I can understand, but Swin Cash puhleez. When I first heard that Geno would coach this team two things I knew new: UCONN would be very well represented, and Cappie may not make the cut. It is also believed the final spot may be reserved for BRITTANY GRINER ;)

Remember that Dean Smith did a similar thing when he coached the Olympic team. Not too unusual.

I recall that being an issue at the time. IIRC Coach Smith didn't have any part of the selection process at the time. I am not naive enough to think he didn't have any influence but he didn't get a vote.

Re: IN OTHER NEWS!
Not surprised she isn't on the roster.
She chose NY Fashion Week over USA basketball in 2010. Shows her dedication (or lack thereof) to the National team.
Also, her insensitive comments about the Japan Sendai earthquake a year ago might be an issue for her and the team participating in a major international event like the Olympics. After those stupid remarks she made I wouldn't want her representing my country.

RE: IN OTHER NEWS!
Anyone that thinks the coach does not pick the players is naive. I assure you that olympic team will be about what the coach wants and definitely would say if he did not want you you would not be on it. Coach Smith came from a different time and from Mens basketball which is a totally different culture. A strong minded Coach like the one we have will get what he wants.
