Also, any chance you might post a list of Ladies UNC is recruiting for 2009?

Much appreciated addition. Now I don't have to shuffle through a pile of papers every time I try to remember a commit's height, etc.

Looking forward to '09 recruits.
No doubt the Bigs will have to contribute early. And Somebody must come in ready to play/start.

Re: Recruiting Board
Super class.....the only one we missed on stayed home and signed with UT, Glory Johnson. She would have made this class really special.

RE: Recruiting Board
I dont get really excited about players this early. There are too many variables that can affect their decision about where to go. If you look over at hoopgurlz you can see a list of the top 100 players of 2009 and the schools they are or may be considering.
Bear in mind that these list are very fluid and can change a lot before the player signs.

Re: Recruiting Board
Looks like a great class. A powerful center and excellent PG is always a good sign. Does anyone know where this class ranks nationally?

Re: Recruiting Board
I had the exact same question, DaReal. How does this class rank against UConn, Tennessee, etc.?

RE: Recruiting Board
Hoopgurlz had us ranked I think 7th nationally. Laura Broomfield did not have an accurate ranking due to her injury and was left of the HG top 100.

RE: Recruiting Board
Women's Basketball Magazine has us #5:
#1 Rutgers #2 UConn #3 Tennessee #4 LSU #5 UNC #6 dook #7 So Cal
The article said "The Elite Eight Recruiting Classes" but only seven teams were listed - funny.

Re: Recruiting Board
Go Rutgers! I'm a fan of CViv because of her personal story. She's essentially a living phoenix.
Zinfan....I noticed that mistakes are rather frequent on the women's recruiting websites. I've accepted that until more people take an interest, we're just gonna have to overlook the quality of the some of the reporting we get from those sources.

Re: Recruiting Board
She'la White scored 44 points against previously unbeaten Walsingham. This lady will solidify our depth at the point and on the perimeter. Look at a lot of 3 guard rotations next year with quick just became quicker.

Re: Recruiting Board
Chay Shegog has been named to the 20 member WBCA High School All-Star Game. The players will be divided into two 10-woman teams. The WBCA game is generally thought a good indication o0f who might be on the McDonald's AA Team.
She'la White was an Honorable Mention.

That is a distinctive honor for both Tar Heels. Congratulations. Also, Broomfield and wood are the X` factors for next years teams.

Re: Recruiting Board
With respect to the Christina Dewitt post below, I missed the significance of this piece, with respects to our recruitment for 08-09. Hey, this is good if Dewitt makes it back. We will have depth in the post that will be sorely missed. I prefer a rotation of Dewitt and MCFarland matched up with Breland, Wood and Shegog, respectively. Then, we do not have to press Laura Broomfield to be greater than 80-90% for her first year. I like Broomfield's potential. Trinity Bursey should be able to play behind McCants. We should have great depth next year. The Key is: will Miller be all the way back along with T, Lucas and Gray and White. This looks like a fine squad of ball handlers and shooters. Candace will give us flexibility at the big guard/wing along with Claytor as perimeter specialists. The future looks bright. Yet I am gonna miss EL and "Miss Priss," badly, in the post. What a pair!! Re: Recruiting Board
Every edition of our Tar Heels has its own identity. This years team is different from last years just and next years will be different from our present edition. The good thing is we will have good players to carry on the Tar Heel tradition.

Re: Recruiting Board
Here's a link to a good action photo of Laura Broomfield taken earlier this month: wpost.pictopia.com.edgesuite.n...0_noseskrid.jpgThe above link is the enlarged photo. The normal size photo and tag can be found here: wpost.pictopia.com/viewdetails...97114/size/300/Credit to the Washington Post and Jonathan Newton for the above photo. I posted an article earlier today about Laura that was published on the washingtonpost.com back on February 12, 2008. It's located on the thread titled "Laura Broomfield?" and can be found here: mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=78#s=7...7&t=1588487

RE: Recruiting Board
Just to note in passing: Candace Wood was named first team All-State (2A) after leading Victory Christian to a state championship.
She'la White's Norfolk Collegiate team was upset in the finals of their conference tournament, 66-64. They lost to a team they had previously beaten by 29, on the road. Despite that loss, White's team still qualified for the state tournament in their division, Virginia Independent D-1.
In that tournament, #1 seed Norfolk Collegiate reached the finals, but lost to #2 seed Paul VI, 73-69. Norfolk almost pulled off a Carolina-like comeback as they were 8 points down with 29 seconds left, and pulled within one point before a pair of late turnovers killed their chances. Norfolk was 26-3 on the season.
She'la White had 22 points in the title game. Said the Virginian-Pilot:
“We never gave up,” White said through tears afterward. “We just wanted to win so bad, and my team did a great job of keeping their head up and fighting until the end.”

RE: Recruiting Board
That is a good thing to get a 4 star post to groom and grow behind Jessica and Chay. Are we in it for Errin Thompson, Lauren White and Ariel Johnson? Who is the other bigs we are looking at? We are still listed for Kelsey Bone --is that likely?
