The ACC is shaping up as the premier wbb conference
The ACC is showing that they are going to be the premier Basketball conference over the next 4 years.
UNC, Dook, Maryland Ga Tech Syracuse Notre Dame all could have top 10 teams. Miami Virginia Fla State Clemson are looking like top 25 teams.
I know it probably will not happen because we will beat each other up but we would have at least 10 or 11 teams that should be in the NCAA tournament.
Looking above 6 teams in the top 10 is unheard of. I am sure as listed above we will not finish there because we have to play each other at least 1 and sometimes 2 times.
Show me another conference out there that can come close.
Very good games on the way.

Re: The ACC is shaping up as the premier wbb conference
Looking over the landscape here are teams that look like they could have top 10 teams.
UConn Louisville and Rutgers look to be the best in the big East. Louisville is on the bubble because of recent decommits and misses and Rutgers needs to close on Scaife.
Tenn Kentucky and T A&M in the SEC.
Baylor in the Big 12
Stanford and Cal in the PAC 12
This is just off the top of my head in regards to what I know is coming in.

RE: The ACC is shaping up as the premier wbb conference
^Agreed. Notre Dame and Syracuse are for real; Pitt maybe a couple of steps behind.
Now, if we can only find a way to market this so that people show up every night.

This is key. Means nothing unless we can put fannies in the seats.

Re: The ACC is shaping up as the premier wbb conference
The A-Double-CEE needs to develop fanbases like Connecticut, Tennessee, Stanford, Notre Dame, and Rutgers do; develop the jaunts to the away games, get the little girls in the seats, and get the adult men with money at the games...
Women's basketball fans don't have many other options in Big XII locations, whereas ACC fans have several other options for hanging out; so it's much harder to develop the heavy-hitter schools situations...

RE: The ACC is shaping up as the premier wbb conference
Incidentally, over at SwishAppeal there has been a week long listing of the Top 100 programs in women's basketball.
The writer, James Bowman, is someone I don't know but apparently is a freelancer and blogger. He has a lot ... I mean a LOT ... to say but the basic part that is interesting to us would be this:
His Top 10
1. Connecticut 2. Tennessee 3. Baylor 4. Stanford 5. Notre Dame 6. Texas A&M 7. dook 8. Maryland 9. Oklahoma 10. Louisville
The rest of the ACC
13. North Carolina 18. Georgia Tech 24. Virginia 29. Florida State 34. Miami 64. Wake Forest 72. North Carolina State 97. Boston College
Virginia Tech and Clemson, not surprisingly, did not make the list. Syracuse (#45) and Pittsburgh (#91) did. If I have any disagreement it would be that Rutgers (#11) should have been where Louisville is but that's a minor point.
If you have a couple of days with nothing to do you can find the whole thing at www.swishappeal.com.

Pretty sure most of the people here know about Uconn's phenomenal class. Also pretty sure, they all so know that yearly Uconn can be a road block. Then add in the fact that Uconn badly wants to be apart of the ACC it would just support the OP's initial statements, should the ACC ever decide to let them in.

Re: The ACC is shaping up as the premier wbb conference
Clemson's exhibition loss to a team that Wake blew out in an exhibition would have one to think that Wake is solidly ahead of Clemson and that Clemson is still a work in progress.

RE: The ACC is shaping up as the premier wbb conference
I wouldn't read too much into that. Anderson had played a couple of other exhibitions on this tour (Wake and South Carolina) so they had seen competition at this level.
Clemson was a bit short handed - Kelly Gramlich, one of their best shooters, only played three minutes and Natiece Ford, who played a bit as a freshman last year, did not play at all. Four freshman played extensive minutes, with two (including top recruit Jonquel Jones) starting. Clemson outrebounded Anderson by a bunch but the same problem they had last year - bad shooting - hurt them.
I thought it interesting that Clemson did not post a box score but Anderson did.

Game was after Wake but before South Carolina so.....maybe they should have beaten SC instead or also.

Re: The ACC is shaping up as the premier wbb conference
She would be a great pick up for Duke and become the heir apparent to Elizabeth Williams at the post position--IF she commits. Right now the word is that she is leaning towards UCLA, but she and recent Duke signee Chidom are good friends soooo.... BTW, note that her decision is at 3:00 PACIFIC time today,

VA Tech isn't doing so well either.
They lost 55-35 at home to a young ODU team that is rebuilding with a new coach. They only scored 13 points in the first half of that game!
