God I love watching JV pitch. I know he pitched for ODU but I wonder sometimes what the story on him was and why bigger schools didnt look at him.

dont that he was not looked at but i think he pitched there during the 90,s UVA had not built the new stadium and was not even fully funded with 11 .7 ships and where a average to bad ACC team each year,VA Tech was in the Big East and did not attract much talent at the time,the baseball schools in VA where ODU,VCU and Richmond at the time,ton of talent in the tidewater area and those schools where in the CAA along with ECU and UNCW at that time the CAA was the best league outside the ACC,SEC PAC12 and BIG 12 and too top it off mike fox was not here yet and UNC was a middle of the pack ACC team on the bubble each year.the game in virginia all changed when UVA decided to be good and VA TECH joined the ACC thus ODU,VCU and Richmond have all droped big time.

Thanks never thought about all that. Just assumed big prospects go to big teams.

Strasburg seems to me to be the biggest prospect I can remember beside JV who went to lower tier DIv 1 schools. No doubt though ODU has had a few good teams though.

Would have liked to see Detroit beat the Cards for a rematch of 2006 but I will take spanking the giants if I can.

well we are in a bit of a must win pickle. JV was the expected first game win now we have to steal one but Fister is more than capable with Bumgardner on the mound. Mad-dog has struggled at times this year and has not had a good playoffs. Not like in 2010 when he burst on the scene.

Would be bittersweet for my TIgers to take game 2 against Mad dog. He is still a Heel to me. Also was nice to see Porcello get some W.S. work in last night too.
