Broadcast this spring
I had heard rumors that Adam and Jones would be off the team for next year, anybody know what is in the works, assuming we can get on the air?

I believe Turner Walston is going to be doing the play by play. I don't know who they will tab for color commentary.

Re: Broadcast this spring
There are a lot of options for color from the recent baseball graduates and I'm certain Turner will do a bang up job, just like he did last season before Adam and Jones were able to restart the radio broadcasts.

--------------------------------------------- Agree all the way around.
If not a recent player, there's someone else in the area who comes to mind. However, if he were to return to the airwaves, baseball tailgating would take a major hit!

Turner did a great job last year, I was hoping that he would be the one.

Agreed. Got a chance to talk with him a bit down in Miami for Greenberg's at-bat. I think he will do very well.

Re: Broadcast this spring
I'm good. Been busy this fall. I didn't make it to the FWS. I've been building a barn in the back yard so my spare time has all pretty much gone in that direction. Have to get those kinds of things done before February rolls around!

Re: Broadcast this spring
WM, Why don't you resurrect your radio career? And perhaps you can bring in some "guest" commentators, such as RC1126 (assuming the FCC doesn't take issue with incendiary guests).

Kenan75:
"Incendiary?" I don't believe I recognize that word. I'll have to look that one up in the dictionary.
Even though that would never happen (thankfully, for everyone), it wouldn't matter how incendiary-ish I might get if I were to do it. With your exceptional political ties there in the State Capital, I'm sure that it'd be nothing for you to bail me out with the FCC!

Re: Broadcast this spring
Someone else mentioned that the other day. I hadn't really thought about it, but it would be fun. I'm just not sure I could handle the time commitment for a full season. Besides, I'm probably way more incendiary than the law would allow!

RE: Broadcast this spring
Turner will do fine. I have no worries with him.. But can someone, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, get the PA announcer, the scoreboard operator, and the music guy out of the Bosh forever? After that question, I don't think I need to say how I really feel..

Re: Broadcast this spring
Bk, we are on the same page! I did see a change at the Wednesday night FWS game. They tried some clap tracks that were different, and IMO needed. They also tried some recorded baseball park organ tracks, that I think will go over well, and IMO are a welcome change.
Sunday at the FWS game, I don't remember any of the changes mentioned above, it sounded like they went back to the same crap we have heard for years, except there was no Miley Cyrus, thank goodness!

RE: Broadcast this spring
I think they are working hard to make a lot of changes in that department. If you've seen or heard things you've liked with video board usage and music at Kenan this year, then you should like the new stuff at the Bosh as well. One of the new employees in New Media will be handling it now I'm told.
