We have 4 offers for H-Back in 2014. It seems like coach plans on being around here for a while and will be breaking many records to come with a lethal offensive weapons.

Lol. I realize we aren't on the same level yet as basketball, but that is plain BS. If he thinks Fedora/Brewer/Anderson and this offense won't be able to maximize his potential, he is just plain ignorant.

Re: 2014 Recruiting Updates
ESPN Watch List safety Quin Blanding (Virginia Beach, Va./Bayside) is ready to make his decision. The 6-foot-2, 196-pound prospect, who competed in Gridiron Kings over the summer, is down to a final group of 10. And his declaration, he confirmed to ESPN, will come at 2:30 p.m. ET Feb. 27. "Yep, and it is the top 10 I posted," he said. That group includes Clemson, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, NC State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Virginia and West Virginia. Back in August, Blanding said he wasn't going to think about recruiting until after his junior season. "I am just looking to lead my team and go game by game," he said then. "I am just trying to make it far into the playoffs and looking to be a team leader and have fun." insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncfre...l/post?id=34017

Re: 2014 Recruiting Updates
Exactly! The stars just mean how ready they are to perform at a D-1 level. 5 stars are usually ready to start from day 1. 4 stars need a little time within 1st year. 3 star maybe need a red shirt and so on. Think I read this some where a while ago.

Re: 2014 Recruiting Updates
With a junior season that saw ESPN Watch List linebacker Raekwon McMillan (Hinesville, Ga./Liberty Co.) rack up 151 tackles, seven sacks, five forced fumbles -- one of which he returned for a TD, one interception, 316 yards rushing and nine touchdowns, it comes as no surprise that over 40 programs have extended offers to the 6-foot-2, 235-pound prospect.
Raekwon McMillanRadi Nabulsi/ESPN.comShowing versatility has become a big factor in recruiting Raekwon McMillan. As someone who grew up following the Georgia Bulldogs, McMillan is aware of the concern that he will exit the state to play college football because of recent junior day visits to Alabama, Clemson and Florida. Having early leaders like Ohio State and Clemson has also played into that perception.
“Everybody thinks that I have left Georgia out, but I have been to Georgia at least six times already,” McMillan said. “Georgia has always been in my top five. I love Coach [Mark] Richt, I love talking to him and I love talking to Coach O (Kirk Olivadotti). I just want look around and make sure I am being thorough with the recruiting process. I don’t want to just go to Georgia because I am an in-state player. I want to make my decision true and honest.”
Two months ago, the chances of McMillan ending up in Athens looked bleak. If the Bulldogs had gotten good news on Feb. 4, they might have been out of the running for his services in 2014.
“To be honest, at one point there Georgia did not recruit me at all really,” McMillan said. “We would talk every two weeks or so. Knowing they had seven linebackers coming in and they were trying to get Reuben Foster, I was thinking if they got Reuben I would just eliminate Georgia period because that would be like eight linebackers in a class. They did not recruit me hard for a while, but it is starting to pick up more with them now.”
While seven signees do project to play linebacker at Georgia, at least two of them will play outside linebacker, with a third possibly playing both inside and outside. Georgia runs a 3-4 defense which calls for two inside linebackers on the field at the same time. Regardless of the additional need at his position, McMillan showed some concern about the linebacker-heavy 2013 class signed by Richt and his staff.
“Georgia is building depth at inside linebacker,” McMillan said. “I am not scared of competition, but knowing those guys will have that extra year will probably give them an edge over me for playing time my first year.”
Some schools, like Ohio State and Florida, have piqued McMillan’s interest by telling him they plan to utilize him in both 3-4 and 4-3 formations.
“Coach [D.J.] Durkin at Florida made a lot of sense when he told me they play both so they can show NFL teams that their players can excel in both schemes so they don’t limit how they are projected,” McMillan said.

Idk how you can say Cooper didn't out perform his rating, as you said he was a 3 star who developed into a All-American, finalist for the most outstanding lineman award, and likely first round pick. --------------------------------------------- --- JamesKenanHeel wrote: No, Cooper was a 3 star senior that worked hard and developed into an outstanding OG and Gio was a 5 star that tore his hammy and became a 4 star. --------------------------------------------- --- TarHeelTim wrote: So,You don't think Bernard & Cooper out performed thier rating? --------------------------------------------- --- JamesKenanHeel wrote: I don't understand what you're trying to say cause most were 4 stars. Re: 2014 Recruiting Updates
ROCKLEDGE, Fla. -- Watch List defensive back Quincy Wilson (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./University School of Nova SE) has recently picked up new offers from Arizona, Ole Miss, UMass and NC State.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete said he was excited to learn of his offer from NC State.
"The one I was probably most excited about was NC State," Wilson said. "I have heard they have good [defensive backs] coming out of there. My favorite [defensive back], David Amerson, for college football last year played for them."
Quincy Wilson Cornerback 2014 Uncommitted: List
*** Rk Stars Grade Hometown NR Fort Lauderdale, FL Wilson also has offers from schools such as Ohio State, Florida, LSU, Auburn and Clemson, but said he has no favorites at this time.
"I don't think there is a lot, out of the big-time schools, so I am going through my offers that I like the most, and kind of building a top list for me," Wilson said. "I think probably by the summertime, I will have a good idea of the schools I want to keep on continuing on with. I'll make my decision probably after I take my official visits."
As for what he's looking for in a college, Wilson said he wants to have a good relationship with his future defensive backs coach.
"I am looking for a defensive backs coach that knows what he is doing, knows what he is talking about," he said. "I am looking for a defensive backs coach that I can build a relationship with, get along with. And if the school has academics I want to study and things like that."
Wilson said three schools, Miami (Fla.), Florida and Alabama, are recruiting him the hardest.
"They come down to visit, they message me on Facebook, they do the little things," he said. "They are showing me that they are really interested in me."

Re: 2014 Recruiting Updates
100% correct on Gio. He was on everyone's list until he got hurt his Junior year. We were one of the few that stayed with him. He probably would have never worn light blue had he not gotten hurt. We took a chance on his legs not his ability. Everyone knew he was special if he could stay healthy and he did for the most part. Coop was a kid that had potential and he did out perform his star rating. But I don't think the argument is that it never happens but that it is much more likely for a 4* to out perform a 2* in most cases.
