If we could get Hand and Brown I would be absolutely and completely thrilled!!!! Some very good Big Uglies getting pressure on the QB would make our secondary look at least 50% better!!!!!

I think our secondary is going to be better next year. We have some good guys coming in and some good guys that redshirted this past year.
But I agree, it would be awesome to get those two.

Carl Lawson (Alpharetta, Ga./Milton), the No. 2 prospect in the country, has taken one trip in the last two months, an unofficial visit to Clemson back in November on the weekend that Auburn head coach Gene Chizik was fired. The 6-foot-2, 251-pound defensive end is set to take his first official visit this weekend.
"I set an official to Clemson," Lawson said. "I am interested and excited about visiting such a wonderful program such as Clemson."
The five-star prospect has not decommitted from Auburn, but has said over the last month that he is reevaluating his options as Signing Day draws near. He is also considering official visits to Ole Miss, Tennessee, USC and UNC.

As signing day approaches for the 2013 class, a 2014 standout made headlines on Tuesday when he announced his top five.

Woodbridge (Va.) High School defensive end Da'Shawn Hand has a top five of Alabama, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia Tech.
ESPN Watch List defensive end Da’Shawn Hand (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge), considered by many to be No. 1 player in next year’s class, released his top five via Twitter. The group included Alabama, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia Tech.
“The reason why they’re my top five is I love all the coaching staffs,” Hand said. “The academics are amazing. I’ve already visited three of the five schools. I need to visit South Carolina and Michigan, and those aren’t too far.
“The coaches, they stay in contact with me. They have been the most consistent, and they have all the pieces. I feel like I could fit in. That’s about it.”
Hand also mentioned Ohio State, saying the Buckeyes are No. 6 -- just outside his final group. He isn’t planning to take any visits until after his wrestling season wraps up next month.
Despite releasing his top five so early, Hand says he won’t make a final decision until this time next year, closer to signing day.
“I want to take all five of my officials, but this top five, it’s what I want to go from,” he said. “I really don’t want to make any changes or anything.”
On Monday night, Hand watched Alabama take down Notre Dame in the BCS championship game. He wasn’t as surprised with the outcome, but he was surprised with how the dominant the Crimson Tide looked.
“That was crazy,” Hand said. “I did not expect the game to be like that. I thought it was going to be nitty-gritty, last-minute field goal type of game, but I guess Notre Dame just wasn’t ready for Alabama and what they had coming.”

The Washington Post had an article about Hand last fall titled, "Da’Shawn Hand of Woodbridge: The recruit who cares as much about academics as the gridiron." That sounds good for us. With Ebron possibly going pro after next year, UNC is going to need TEs who can stretch the field and make plays. |

If I was Fed, I would say, "hey, I see you being Dr. Hand in a few years! How about you major in (insert compatible major) for the 3 years you're here, and while you're in the league you can get a masters in engineering. That way you can afford it, both financially and with time.
