2014 Recruiting Updates
Since more and more 2014 kids are starting to get offered as they enter their junior years (at the time of this post), we will go ahead and chronicle those offers and prospective Carolina football recruits on this thread. Much thanks to spacemt1 for all of his hard work updating on who has offers and who does not; his intrepid work has given rise to this thread being created in April of 2012, and I know a lot of people here on IC appreciate everything he does keeping us up-to-the-minute with UNC offers. What will be our biggest needs for this class? I have high hopes for the 2014 class, I think Coach Fed and his staff will have a lot of local recruiting connections by then.

I have some friends on the SC Shrine Bowl staff and I'm told it is a weak year for SC and very strong for NC. The Heels should have a good year in their home state. I hope we (SC) land a few more from Ga. and NC. Can't make a living here this year.

With the quarterbacks we already have at UNC or have committed I bet they think Travon can play other positions besides quarterback. This would make sense. Ideally, you want 1 QB per year to keep the depth chart full; whether you're recruiting starters at QB or backups is up to the coaching staff, but at least 1 per year should be the norm. Having that many QBs on the roster also builds competition, something that definitely improves quality of play.

Looks like instate RB Elijah Hood has a top 4 of Clemson, Notre Dame, Virginia, and South Carolina according to Clemson's scout.com page. He does plan to visit UNC this summer so maybe we can make up some ground. I'm so tired of seeing the best instate players go out of state, I hope Fedora can help put an end to that.

Looks like CB Tajze Battle is the first commit of the 2014 class. Maybe with both he and Hand on campus today UNC gets a HUGE head start on next year's class.
