It would be awesome if we could get Lawson. The last Lawson at UNC worked out pretty well. I'm glad we are back involved with some of the top talent in high school football. That says a lot about what coach Fedora and his coaching staff have already done at UNC in a short time.

If we could flip Harris, get North, and by some miracle get Lawson to flip as well...Fedora would have pulled off a first year recruiting class that will be hard for him to top..and definitely make a major announcement UNC Football is about to start knocking the Heel out of some folks. Just getting North and keeping the rest would be well and good enough as is though.

North is no longer going to decide at the US Army All American game is basically the news. It would have been better for us if he would have decided at the game because we look to be his leader. Now we will have to continue to battle for him and maybe Brian Walker who is taking a visit to Tennessee with him. Also, the main thing he is concerned about is how many receivers we have and his playing time apparently. To that, I'd add that in no way shape or form do we have too many receivers. No way. That's other coaches putting stuff in his head more than likely imho. Carolina looks to still be in the lead with him, but ever so slightly. So Fedora and staff need to stay on him, and I'm sure they likely will.
I don't think we have to worry about Walker. Walker has been trying to get North to commit to UNC for a while. They are teammates and friends, so he's likely going with him for that reason alone...however, it is true you never really know until signing day. Recruiting is always a race right up to the finish line, and no lead is big enough to take for granted.

Don't know how many are left but Tn has 14 WR and Clemson 12 since 2010. Both have higher rated receivers. Doubt there is a genuine depth difference.

Virginia commit Tim Harris I believe is the back up plan if we were to lose Wiggins so maybe Cooper is the back up plan if we lose Walker. Unfortunately I think it has to do with the tenn WR Hunter turning pro. I believe there is another Tenn WR, Patterson, who could turn pro as well. Heard something about north wanting to see what those 2 do. Something else to consider with North. They may have another QB coming in that's a 3 star. He committed to Cincinnati but is now looking at Tennessee. insider.espn.go.com/insider/features/rumorsCoaching changes often bring uncertainty for recruits. And inevitably there are recruits that decommit from a program due to those changes. Three-star quarterback Kyle Kempt (Massillon, Ohio/Washington) decommitted from Cincinnati. Kempt confirmed his decision on twitter. The quarterback decided to restart the recruiting process once Tommy Tuberville was named the Bearcats' new head coach. Kempt currently has seven offers. One of those offers is from Tennessee, where the previous Cincinnati coaching staff now resides. If Kempt wants to stay in-state, both Bowling Green and Toledo are options. There may also be other options now available for Kempt to consider. "I am going to look at all my options going forward, and there has been contact with other schools," Kempt told Bill Greene of Scout.com. |

I like how he looks. A sleeper is someone you don't want to wake up. Let's wake him up. He's a 3 star with 4.5 speed and an athlete/safety. Read an interview with Walker who said that North was going to be at the UNC Maryland bb-game on January 19th along with a slew of other recruits. It may turn into his official. Think that is the big date for us.

As expected, Tennessee's Justin Hunter is headed to the NFL.
The Vols' junior receiver tweeted out Monday that he had indeed declared early for the draft. His receiving cohort this season at Tennessee, Cordarrelle Patterson, is expected to follow suit, although Patterson hasn't made any statements publicly.
While Hunter is on his way out, Tennessee junior offensive tackle Ja'Wuan James confirmed Monday that he would be returning to school for his senior season.
"I believe in what Coach [Butch] Jones is preaching and what he's about," James told ESPN's Joe Schad.
ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay projects Hunter as the 22nd overall pick in April's NFL draft. Hunter caught 73 passes for 1,083 yards and nine touchdowns this season, but was also plagued by some untimely drops. He was returning from a torn ACL that forced him to miss all but the first three games of the 2011 season.
Patterson, who played just one season at Tennessee after transferring from junior college, is No. 11 overall on ESPN analyst Mel Kiper's latest Big Board of the top 25 draft prospects.
The feeling in and around the Vols' program is that junior quarterback Tyler Bray will also declare early for the draft.

I think that will depend on who else we have a chance to get. Trust me if we have a shot at Adams or Lawson we wont turn them away.
