Have we lost Taylor to grades? Summers is set for summer school enrollment?

I'm not sure about Taylor but we always seem to have trouble getting guys who don't make it right out of high school. Does anyone know how good Taylor is? The only video I have seen of him he was playing tight end but we are recruiting him as a defensive end.

Re: 2013 Recruiting Updates
247 is reporting that Schuyler Coleman has commited to UNC. It doesn't list him as officially having an offer, so not sure if he is going as a preferred walk on or not. Nonetheless, kid is friggen huge: 6-6 and 335lbs. 247sports.com/Player/Schuyler-Coleman-24162*edit To clarify, I browsed the site, saw there was a new OL commit...then looked at the commit list and there he was. Not sure if this is regarded as premium information or not. The commit list up there for everyone though.

He could be a preferred walk-on. I also saw where Justin Fieullateau, Jordan's brother, has decided to be a Heel. Do believe he could be considered a preferred walk-on as well.

Re: 2013 Recruiting Updates
He is a preferred walk on and apparently our coaching staff is pretty excited about his potential one day. He has had a really tough life with a growing disorder but he has battled through that all and now has a chance to play at UNC. There is an premium article on him at 247sports.com. He also plays with 2014 QB target Will Grier which should be a good thing. --------------------------------------------- --- Fedoramases wrote: 247 is reporting that Schuyler Coleman has commited to UNC. That's good to see. He was being listed as a possible db, so it would be sweet if he developed to the point both he and Jordan could get PT and represent both offense and defense for UNC. --------------------------------------------- --- HeelinBoone wrote: On twitter. Re: 2013 Recruiting Updates
After watching his senior film, Coleman looked good as a OT, but he also was deadly as a DT as well on the clips they showed. I wouldn't be surprised if that is where he ends up since we have a really big need there.

He's really the last piece of the puzzle, and he knows it. With less than 2 months to NSD, he will make his decision soon…and it will be after he gets the full-court press from the coaching staff and other UNC recruits.

well, it's his lost. He would have been a piece to this puzzle.
Offensive tackle Delando Crooks is heading to Jamaica tomorrow. Part of his last minute preparations included committing to Vanderbilt University.
Delando Crooks Offensive guard 2013 Committed: Vanderbilt *** RkStarsGradeHometown 38 77Atlanta, GA “Delando committed to Vanderbilt about an hour ago,” said Crooks' uncle, Troy Vaccianna. “Vanderbilt was always one of his top choices and he just wanted to put things behind him, enjoy his vacation, come back and concentrate on his last semester in high school.”
Crooks has double-digit offers from programs all over the nation, including Georgia, Auburn, Mississippi State, Stanford and Virginia Tech. He could not get out to all of the schools that offered him, so the three-star offensive tackle instead looked at what the schools offered in the classroom.
“It has been a stressful process for him because he has high academic standards,” Vaccianna said. “That is his main goal. During the season we didn’t get to visit everybody because it was a rough year. He was on the grind and putting in a lot of work. He also had a lot of Saturday games also. Schools like North Carolina, Purdue, and of course Georgia were all in there at the end too. But he made a decision after talking to his family and head coach to go ahead and get it out of the way and enjoy the rest of his high school career.”
Crooks has a 3.6 GPA and scored a 1450 on the SAT. He plays both ways for Carver, often lining up at defensive end.
“He could enroll early but he won’t,” Vaccianna said. “He decided he wants to finish at Carver. He is only 17 and wants to enjoy his friends and high school. He said once you leave high school there is no turning back. Furthermore he wants to throw the discus again this year with the track team. He wants to have fun and concentrate on his academics.”
Vanderbilt head coach James Franklin led the Commodores to back-to-back bowl games for the first time in the program’s history. He was recently rewarded with a contract extension. That weighed heavily into Crooks’ decision.
“Coach Franklin is a great coach,” Vaccianna said. “He has a great staff up there and a great system. But, first and foremost, Delando says it matches him academically. Also, Vanderbilt is building a great program up there and Delando says he wants to create history instead of just being part of history.”

Re: 2013 Recruiting Updates
We have one certain scholarship left. If the staff takes on more than one that means it believes at least one commitment will either decommit or fail to qualify. Obviously North has a place if he wants one. My guess is that DT is the other spot the staff wants. If I had to guess I would say the realistic wish list is North/Alston and then Wilkins.

We have several really good prospects giving us a look the problem is we only have a few scholarship spots left. I think at the max we could take three more guys. I say that because I'm not sure if Taylor and Summers will qualify and we could get a decommitment from someone before NSD.

I'm kinda starting to get this impression as well. There are a LOT of new names being brought up, which makes sense because you don't want to put your eggs in one basket, but there are some BIG names out there that is they commit to UNC would lead me to believe that at least 1 guy either won't qualify or will greyshirt.
