I saw Jaylen move from the bottom of the DT's to 3rd in line behind Reed though. Adams moved to the bottom with 1star. I saw video on this kid and would love to get Adams. He's a monster up front.

Could we miss out on a big name DT this year like Adam, Reed or Jaylen and recoup in 2014 class like Clark, Brown, Moten, Wideman or Walker? How many DT's are targeted a year?

Adams would be huge if we could somehow get him. I would think our chances are slim to none but I think Fedora and his coaching staff are great at selling UNC so you never no.

ESPN's Kipp Adams is saying that 5* DE Carl Adam is possibly considering us for 1 of his final 2 visits. North, Crowder, Adams, Montravius, Crooks, Alston?, Reed? and only 2 ships. Not saying that we are going to get them but it would be a heart break if we had to turn show one away.

All scholarships are one year, walk on's won't be "giving up" their scholarships, they simply don't get one next yer.

Only way we take more than two additional recruits this year is if someone who is presently committed decommits or fails to meet the entry requirements. As for the latter situation one normally does not know until the spring except for those guys who had a fifth year of high school, meaning Taylor and Summers. Over the last few years several of those guys have gone JC after one semester of the 5th year. I have no idea what Taylor and Summers situations are. I am sure the coaches know. Assuming all 18 currently committed stay with UNC then obviously the staff wants North and Crowder for the last two spots. But if a Golson or Adams committed, I am sure they would take them and let things sort themselves out. I seriously doubt that everyone currently committed stays committed. Bet we are looking at 3-4 additional commits.

We only have one or two former walkons now holding scholarship - Heffernan and Mark McNeill are the only two I can think of.

Latest update with Crowder according to TarHeelIllustrated.com is he is down to Clemson and Georgia. He has an official visit set in Jan. for Clemson and it wouldn't surprise me if he committed then. The way he talked it seemed like Georgia wasn't very interested in him so I'm surprised he cut us instead of them. He has been gaining weight which might be a problem with Fedora I don't know. Anyone else have any information on Crowder?

It would have been nice to get Crowder, but I don't think it's the end of the world. It seems like we are the leader for North, which is exciting and we'll have to see with some of these other big time recruits. It's a long shot, but we are going after Montravius Adams. According to Espn, there is a chance that we could get Carl Lawson to visit, who is the #2 overall player on Espn, so obviously that would be huge. I think Fedora could have some tricks up his sleeve, and hopefully we'll get North and another high profile recruit. This class is already very good as it is, we just got to keep it intact and add on.
