Looks like Tyquan Lewis will decide pretty soon. I'm not sure if we have room for him given our other needs.

UT has always been there for North. Alston is on the clock and time is ticking quickly.

More likely North than Alston; I thought UNC was in good position with them both, but perhaps not as good as had previously been reported.

the last three recruits could take fedora from an average recruiter at unc to very very good in his first year. It is not over yet but it is not looking good.

word is we are a long shot at best for Crowder as well.

I do like how he is taking more NC guys however and this is the way to get those big NC recruits in the long run.

Average? On the contrary, given the trials of the last two years, I would say Fedora's first class is very good. Any additional 4-star or better recruits are icing on the cake.

if we finish in the 25-40 range that is very much average at unc.

I would direct you to the class ranking of such recruiting masterminds as Carl Torbush and John Bunting to see what UNC can bring in without even trying.

Build it, and they will come.

Gotta win for those elite NC recruits to take notice. When they realize they don't have to leave the state to get everything they're looking for out of a football program (bowl games, national championship hopes, conference championships), they'll look at UNC a little differently.

Re: 2013 Recruiting Updates

Maybe he has been to UNC so many times he doesn't feel he needs to take an official. I think it's only a matter of time before we start landing the big name recruits instate and around the country. I believe Fedora can turn our football program into something special in time.

That's my line of thinking as well. Let's face it, he's been here a ridiculous amount of times already. I can't blame him for wanting to take some free trips out of state to get wined and dined.

The OV's aren't scheduled so do not write him off. We are as "in it" for him as anyone else, as we have been since the beginning. Step back from the ledge. I wouldn't be surprised if we DO get a late official from him, but even if we don't, DO NOT concede him to anyone.

RE: 2013 Recruiting Updates

Watched nash central host a thrashing from new bern last night; 50-something to not nearly enough. Anyway, a couple of impressive kids on the bears squad. The qb, only a junior I believe pretty good and mobile, strong arm. Looked to be some horses on both lines, one at about 6-6 or so. Some sure handed receivers, a speedy 6' tall tailback. And a Pk that was kicking what looked like 60 yarders at halftime warmup.

A nice group of athletes at KRs old stomping grounds.

Makes sense. Neither of them have commitable offers unless something happens with one of the current commitments or UNC misses on someone.

I have watched them also a couple times, the one Cherry kid is going to Cow College. The RB they have right now is awesome. The PK is pretty dang good, kicks from everywhere including multiple 55 yarders at the half of the Hillside game. Kicked it out of the end zone every kickoff also. He also made a tackle on #5 from Hillside on a kickoff (I thought he was the best player on the field, RB from Hillside). New Bern is pretty dang good!

Edit: in response to KANNON.

Remember this will only be 80% of a class due to the restrictions.

So take whatever points system they use and give us a 20% bump to get the bs math version of where the class could/would be.

If he wants to travel, why not go to USC (real one, obviously), Hawaii... jeez, there have to be 300+ destinations more interesting than Knoxville and certainly more exotic. That makes no sense at all, I mean visiting Tennessee... obviously going there makes no sense (unless your only option was state or something)

I sure would like for someone much better connected than me to puleeeeze say something about why we did not recruit either Cherry or the running back from Rockingham, D. Nichols. Both are terrific athletes with sub 4.5 speed and play for traditional powerhouse programs here in North Carolina.

and nichols plays in a spread for richmond much like what we run at unc. he would be perfect in this system.

also missed out of a DE in richmond that went to the SEC without an offer.

we will be sorry Nichols went to state.
