Didn't Christian go to Georgia because their dad didn't think UNC was a National Contender??

Yes they're related.
Aaron Murray has at least one more year of starting, if not two, at UGA. I'm not going to totally discount the possibility that Uriah wants to play with his brother (frankly, I agree that is his most likely destination), but until he commits I applaud Fedora making him think hard about staying in-state.

His grades were fine, he got caught "doing something" at the school. Wasn't really worth not being able to play but he still got his scholarship so alls well that ends well I guess.

It will be really hard to keep Lemay instate but if Fedora could that would be a great statement that we are trying to lock down instate guys. I saw something about him already having over 25 offers so the competition will be tough.

Was that against the rules? I am sure that if someone had explained to him that sort of behavior was frowned up, he would not have done it.

I hope we have a punter that will step up this year. Last year was painful when our punters could only get it 20 yards. --------------------------------------------- --- northernheel wrote: Matt Wogan, the kicker UNC is looking at in 2013 www.chrissailerkicking.com/pla...files/2013.html---------------------------------------------

Re: 2013 Recruiting Updates
Looks like coach Fedora is trying to use the UNC vs Duke basketball game to get football guys on campus. I like the idea and hope it really works the only problem is the game is on a Wednesday so I hope guys can find the time to come out. I think coach Fedora is just what we needed for a coach and I am really getting excited about UNC football again.

Hopefully the campus wasn't too down after the game tonight, the recruits may not have experienced as great an atmosphere as if the Heels had won tonight. I won't sleep tonight unfortunately, this game will bother me for at least a week after that epic collapse :(

"Reconsidering UNC," Lewis said. "Coach (Larry) Fedora is one of the coolest coaches ever." This is great to hear. Sounds like Fedora will be a great recruiter, now lets hope he can get that talent to play as a team on the field. --------------------------------------------- --- reggaeheel wrote: Tar Heels make move with Lewis: www.goupstate.com/article/2012...move-with-Lewisnorthcarolina.scout.com/a.z?s=...amp;nid=5904603---------------------------------------------

RE: 2013 Recruiting Updates
I love the NC push Fed and crew are making but I really hope they are not putting all of their collective eggs in this NC Dream Team basket. I know there is some great talent in our state this year but lets not over look all of the other talent out there just to "lock down the borders". I understand this is not LF's first rodeo but it sure seems like a ton of offers are being laid out for the in-state kids (which I love by the way) and not much attention spread around. I do realize that there is tons more going on behind the scenes than I know about but I was just curious to what others think about this rubbing some out of state 18 yr old kids the wrong way. I'm not berating the staff just wondering what others think.

Naive comment here. I dont see any star ranking associated with these kids yet?? Too early, or are they not highly ranked?

I'm pretty sure these three guys will be ranked highly instate and will be 3/4 star guys. These guys have talent and you should definitely be pumped about these early developments on the trail.

These recruiting services do not have sources in the new staff and they don't know what is going on. They can't even roll over the recruiting board because they don't kow what should be on it. They will have no idea what is going on outside the state unless that recruit goes public.
Might want to let this play out a little bit

The NC Dream Team idea is not new, certainly not to Carolina or anywhere else. It's been long established that North Carolina high school football may not produce as many D-1A prospects as other states like Texas, Florida, California and Ohio do, but the top players are just as good as anyone and history backs that up (Peppers, Spikes, etc.).
Where the Dream Team really begins to take hold is with a new staff and a new culture that is making a concerted effort to build relationships within the state in a short period of time, and using that moniker to propel that effort forward on its own merit. We can see already that is paying dividends with 3 recruits from NC already committed to Carolina and talking about a potential "dream team" with the other top players in the state. Furthermore, if this class does in fact succeed in building a "dream team" of sorts with many NC HS players, then ideally we're going to start to see a LOT more players look at staying home and playing for UNC a little more closely in order to maintain that state pride.
This isn't just about recruiting in a sense that there's a push to fill a class almost exclusively with NC players; rather, it's a calculated move to quickly build relationships within the state and capitalize on a talent-rich area. You can be sure that if there are players out there outside of North Carolina that fit what Fedora and the staff want to do that they will go after them with the same vigor that they've demonstrated thus far for the North Carolina prospects.
