2013 Recruiting Updates
National Signing Day 2012 may be in the books, but if you listened to anything that Coach Larry Fedora and the rest of his staff said that day, you know they are already working very hard on the next crop of Tar Heel football players. Therefore, it is only right that we here at IC begin keeping track of those potential future Carolina football family members right here on this thread. Feel free to familiarize yourself with the 2013 Recruiting Board and all the prospects Coach Fedora and his staff are targeting for next year's class. Remember: any conversation about 2012 recruits can continue on the 2012 Recruiting Updates thread. If you have any news or updates to share on 2013 recruits, feel free to add it to this thread.

Re: 2013 Recruiting Updates
Really looking forward to this class! With a whole year or more(we`re already on some of them obv)for LF and staff to work we should do much better in state. We really only have to worry about out of state schools for the in state talent.

Maybe, just maybe, the Never Consistent Amateur Association will have issued it's ruling by signing day 2013.

Re: 2013 Recruiting Updates
johnathan allen and e.j. levenberry from VA aren't must gets but would be nice snags for our defense. Marquez North is a guy i really like. north carolina guard tyrone crowder recently picked up an offer from alabama, not sure if he's going to stay in state. with the staff in place it'll be interesting to see what this staff will be able to accomplish. I like the fact that they've been plucking some players from florida and georgia....

IC has to update that board big time. Still got Modridge on there. He was a real Heel man. Sucks.

Re: 2013 Recruiting Updates
I see Clemson is getting out of the gates early in 2013 and 2014. They have nothing on us except a great atmosphere on games days so maybe with Fedora as our coach we can all step up and make Keenan a great game day atmosphere. I feel like if we could do that it would really help us in recruiting.

247sports.com/Recruit/Top-247/2013^This was the lone 2013 recruit ranking list that I could find that didn't require an account of some sort. Not sure how they stack up with ESPN, Rivals or Scout. ESPN's Top 100 for 2013 is apparently only available to "insiders" at this time.

And they will probably be done by late November. All I concern myself with is who and how UNC chooses to go after their targets.

Re: 2013 Recruiting Updates
I listened to a former head recruiter at Notre Dame and he was against taking early commits. He said that sometimes they had big drop-offs in performance from JR year.

I agree that could happen but with the way recruiting is now you almost have to take guys earlier and earlier.

Re: 2013 Recruiting Updates
This sounds good. Off Greensborosports.com www.greensborosports.com/2012/...niors/#commentsreally like the comment from a coach Teague says: February 2, 2012 at 4:22 pm I`m a HS Coach in another county and I `ve got the pleasure of coaching a D1 kid this year. I also without hesitation will tell you how impressed I was with Mr. Fedora and some of his staff. They complement each other very well. We`ve had several D1 kids come through our school not because we coach them to become D1 guys it`s just that they love the game and work so hard at it. So it`s not our first rodeo hosting legimate staffs from some top D1 schools. If my first instincts are as good as they normally are, lookout in the ACC, these guys know the game and are relentless. I put this in perspective, his staff had 3 official visits with each recruit not the early enrollees obviously and less than a month on the job not having anybody on the staff familiar with this area other than Gunther Brewer WR coach and had as good of a recruiting class than over half in the conference. I will say that my kid already loves this staff and our staff is very impressed with them aswell. Once this cloud clears regardless of the outcome and based on tOSU / Miami closed on their classes with the same uncertainty surronding the programs all I can say is this state may be in for wild ride on this horse.

Marquez North looks like an absolute beast. Whats the story with this guy, any chances he stays in state with us? Seems he fits the Fedora mold perfect.

Watch Texas be done by late July. Must be nice to have things wrapped up early and spend the last few months courting big timers.

Don't know either but if game day is that great there has to be something about the rest of the time. Not saying anything wrong but everyone doesn't just go crazy on game day. Wish I knew what it is.

Visits are being set up. Larry Fedora is making a STRONG push for some top players early to fight off top SEC schools. Here are the visit that we know about.
Feb. 8 Uriah LeMay WR Matthews (N.C.) Feb. 8 Marquez North WR Charlotte (N.C) Feb. 8 Khris Francis RB Durham (N.C.) No Date Yet Adam Breneman TE Camp Hill (P.A) No Date Yet Malik Graves DB Jacksonville (F.L) No Date Yet Keeon Johnson Kannapolis WR (N.C.)
4 TOP in-state players have already plan to visit UNC. Larry Fedora top mission is to win the state of North Carolina 1st.

Yes they're related.
Aaron Murray has at least one more year of starting, if not two, at UGA. I'm not going to totally discount the possibility that Uriah wants to play with his brother (frankly, I agree that is his most likely destination), but until he commits I applaud Fedora making him think hard about staying in-state.
