Re: Cooper # 10

Centers don't get picked high very often, but he can definitely play that position too. He did some of those workouts at the combine in addition to Guard stuff.

Strange year in the draft, so many unrecognizable names up in the top 10 or so.

Re: Cooper # 10

Once the Niffle figured out how smart Coop is -- Academic All-ACC -- inevitable they'd want to put him in the middle and make him responsible for line calls.

Now I REALLY want to the guy to land with a quality org.

Re: Cooper # 10

This could be the first draft in a long while where two interior linemen(Warmack and Cooper) get picked in the top 20. If we can keep sending players to the draft as high picks post-Butch era, I can't help but like our future on the recruiting trail.

Re: Cooper # 10

That will only happen when Fedora sends his own players into the draft..Cooper and Williams are Butch era recruits and there is no post Butch era until all his talented players are gone.

^ I think next years draft class will say alot about how Fedora and staff develop players and recruit going foward. This years group of players had quite a bit of coaching from Butch and his staff that helped mold them into the players they are. Sly is the one exception being a junco transfer he was recruited by Butch but was not coached by him. If Fedora can keep turning out players that are like Sly this team will be just fine.

Any player that gets drafted in the immediate future from UNC will also likely be a Butch era player....Renner, Ebron, Hurst, Bodine, Turner or Holts were all Butch players.

I remember watching Coop's videos from HS and thinking that he was very light on his feet for a big guy. He looked like something special even then.
