Now that's funny. They're demanding an equal number of NC State grads on the Board as Carolina grads. (No equality for UNCG, or Charlotte, or A&T, or the School of the Arts, or Pembroke, or Asheville or the rest, of course). According to them, the disproportionate representation of Carolina grads is part of some conspiracy to cover up the academic scandal, and has nothing to do with the fact that Carolina graduates come out as competent public policy leaders capable of running an organization like the UNC system. What jokers.

RE: This what you talk about when football and basketball
You guys laugh, but some of you may recall Tom Ross getting emails from moou guys posing as outraged UNC alums over the football stuff and he reacted to those emails in a most hostile way. Moou guys are sending rational sounding emails to the GA asking for this and getting some traction. I just emailed all the members of both committees asking them not to keep unc folks out. I told them there was a "grass roots' effort afoot to exclude UNC alums form the BOG and not to be beguiled by fans from other schools and that the BOG needed to be above petty rivalries. I recommend you all do the same.
Here are the email addresses I used; it only takes a second to send an email:
Tom.Apodaca@ncleg.net; Dan.Blue@ncleg.net; Harry.Brown@ncleg.net; Dan.Soucek@ncleg.net; Jerry.Tillman@ncleg.net; Michael.Walters@ncleg.net; Tim.Moore@ncleg.net; Nelson.Dollar@ncleg.net; Susi.Hamilton@ncleg.net; Edward.Hanes@ncleg.net; Bryan.Holloway@ncleg.net; Bert.Jones@ncleg.net; Jason.Saine@ncleg.net; Ruth.Samuelson@ncleg.net; Ken.Waddell@ncleg.net

They are great at whining, and melting down, and complaining, and ********, and being second best to anyone and everyone, and... well, you get the picture.

If you look at their athletics history, they are very rarely second-best. Usually seventh or ninth or twelfth, at least as far as the ACC goes. Let's not even start on US News & World Report.

^ that's why I want them to win a NC in women's volleyball (or something). Perpetual losers are always looking to change the rules or play the victim (which can affect other people). They've been doing it for so long now it will take generations of winning before their great, great grand kids decide that people aren't out to get them.

Re: This what you talk about when football and basketball
I know it isn't doable presently but sometimes, I think I would love to see Carolina leave the UNC system and go private. It would be hilarious to watch NCS try to carry the banner of the UNC system. Can you imagine NCS being promoted as the premier institution in a university system? Yep, that would really shore of the system's rep, wouldn't it.
This is just another example of the agdogs looking for handouts in an effort to move themselves forward without having to actually put in the time or the work. Exclude qualified people because it might benefit NCS. Yep, that's the ticket.

That's all this is. And for all I know, it might work.

Won't happen. They're trained to recite the "out to get them" theories from birth. It's an easy out and allows them to explain away their failures without having to ever accept any accountability. It's basically a get out of jail free card for life. Of course, it's bogus and everyone other than the agdogs know it but it helps them get through the day.

LOL. Yea, I can see the brochures now. The leader of the state of North Carolinas university system has a triple digit ranking. That gets the blood flowing.

Re: This what you talk about when football and basketball
Maybe it would be best if that did happen. It would remove at least one more crutch for the fake ankle sprain they have claimed to have had for the last 50 years. It would remove at least one more excuse.
Or would it? I'm of the opinion that the agdogs are simply never going to have the guts to stand up and say "we are who we are" and we're responsible for our successes as well as our failures. They've never done it, so I see no reason that would suddenly find a batch of self respect now.
They prefer the whine approach. It's easier to learn and easier to teach. They have made whining and crying an art form. It's what people associate with NCS. Heck, it's openly promoted and encouraged by their AD.
I suspect that if every member of the BOG was an agdog grad they would still whine and place the blame for every misfortune on someone else. It's just a lazy way out of accepting responsibility and they seem to embrace it.

Re: This what you talk about when football and basketball
I think you guys are missing a point here. It seems some are saying that if something were to change it would help NCS stop whining. You're wrong.
The agdogs don't whine because they have to or deserve to. They whine because they like it. They whine because it's easier than bucking up and getting something done. NCS likes their easy buttons and they won't even give them up.
NCS people were masters of the whine before I was born and I suspect they be doing it long after I'm gone. Whining is addictive and 50 years is a long time to get comfortable with something.
