I am still curious to see if Miami will sit their likely #1 seed bb out of the postseason like they did their Independence Bowl-bound FB team in 2011-2012...

So, when should the NCAA expect to receive its NOA? If free tutoring is such a big deal, then this could be huge! They could potentially lose 3-5 infraction rules for the next several years... which could really set their enforcement program waaay back. Soon, I bet student athletes will be sleeping on couches right and left, and the NCAA won't be able to do a thing about it! Absolute chaos!

Julie Roe Lach got tossed overboard. Ha ha.

In other news, I wonder what sort of shenanigans (that we DON'T know about) were a part of the investigation here.

The thing is if there were missteps in the Miami investigation, then it is highly likely there were missteps in the UNC investigation. It is kind of like a police detective or a DA doing something wrong in one investigation, then every investigation they have worked on gets called into question. Probably not worth it at this point because UNC has served its bowl ban and still have some of this academic issues hanging over them, so best to leave it alone. Still stinks.

The schools has said that they won't self-impose any further penalties on the basketball team.

Didn't take long to find out what kind of other shenanigans went on THERE... from the ESPN story about the notice...

"Many of the charges brought forth are based on the word of a man who made a fortune by lying," Shalala wrote. "The NCAA enforcement staff acknowledged to the University that if Nevin Shapiro, a convicted con man, said something more than once, it considered the allegation 'corroborated' -- an argument which is both ludicrous and counter to legal practice"

DAAAAAUUUUUMMMM

If he says it twice it's corroboration?????? Gimme a frick'n break.

And look who came to Julie's defense...

"There are a handful of people I could name in my career who emulate integrity on a daily basis, and Julie is one of those people," said Carrie Doyle, a former NCAA enforcement representative who now is compliance director at North Carolina State. "I am convinced Julie acted with integrity and did the right thing. She is who she is. … What's happened is unfortunate, for the membership and the enforcement staff."

IMO, Ms Doyles endorsement is reason enough on it's own to toss her.

Still hasn't responded to any of my emails. LOL!

I suspect Ms Doyles support is the result of some mutual back scratching over the years. I use back scratching in lieu of butt kissing.
