I wasn't exactly a fan (or hater)of the giant foot but I do like this much better.

I may be in the minority but I like the foot on the helmet better. IMO we don't use the foot enough. Plus the foot helmet was aqua chrome which means the chrome had a blue tint to it which was more unique to college football. Bring back the foot for next year!

I'm pretty sure the foot helmet was basic chrome too, just the sky's reflection in the helmets made it seem blue. If you look at the auctions where you could buy the game helmets they appeared to be just plain ol' chrome.

Actually the chrome helmet was not BLUE TINTED...it was the sky and what is why it looked black for UVA game...I have seen them in person.

You may have seen one but I own one of the game used helmets and they are slightly tinted blue. The company that chromes them calls it aqua chrome.

I like the foot, but the foot on the helmet last year is hideous. Go back to the old school foot.

Sick. I can't wait to see that bad boy on the field.
I also agree with blue82 that we don't utilize the foot logo enough, and last year's chrome helmets were just as awesome as these will be. I hope that we keep both in the repertoire.

I investigated buying some of that chrome paint for some parts of an old car I am restoring. That stuff is INSANELY expensive. A gallon costs about $1000. Probably not that big of a deal to a program the size of UNC, though. Also, considering that they were selling those used helmets for $800 they easily made the money back.

Yeah it also said the back bumpers were black....wrong they were white. Also stated it was a black facemask....wrong it was navy. Go back and look at the locker room revealing video then we will talk. So son if u want to make comments about being blind we can talk about that in person. You know those helmets are ******. I don't care if they have the foot, the interlock NC or the horns. The chrome just screams we know we look good. Most of these custom helmets are used helmets that have been repainted and finished with new decals. It was probably used by some high school until it was deemed unsafe for competitive play.

"Please remember this is not a TEAM ISSUSED HELMET, the helmet was never used by any player from the school/team and I have no affiliation with the University/College or Team."

I liked last year's helmet, even though I thought the Tar Heel was too large ( looked a little Conf USAish for my taste ). But love the NC logo on this year's helmet. Hope we see it in a game this year.
