Predict the 2013 schedule
The ACC should have already released the schedule but alas it has not yet. Last year, we had a thread on this forum to guess the schedule. Feel free to participate. There are four "known" slots(ECU, ODU, Middle Tennessee, and SCar even though it is unclear whether the SCar game will be 8/29 or 8/31). Order the games using the six coastal opponents, Boston College, and State and the two open weeks from 1-14 and see who comes the closest?
Here is what we "know" (at least what we think we know):
1 @ SCar (8/29 or 8/31) 2 Middle Tennessee (9/7) 3 4 5 ECU (9/28) 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 Old Dominion (11/23) 14

I reserve the right to edit mine at a later date (prior to the release of the schedule which should be any day now). Schools with games already scheduled are in parenthesis:

I thought the Old Dominion game was October 12. When did that change?

Re: Predict tthe 2013 schedule
Just saw on IC the 11/23 date for ODU, so I'm assuming the October 12 date has been changed. Below are my guesses on the full schedule. I believe there are two bye weeks this year since conference championship games are December 7.
Game 1 - 8/29 or 8/31 at South Carolina Game 2 - 9/7 vs MTSU Game 3 - 9/14 at GT Game 4 - 9/21 vs BC Game 5 - 9/28 vs ECU Game 6 - 10/5 at Pitt Game 7 - 10/12 OFF Game 8 - 10/17 - vs Miami Game 9 - 10/26 vs UVA Game 10 - 11/2 at NCSU Game 11 - 11/9 - OFF Game 12 - 11/16 at VT Game 13 - 11/23 vs ODU Game 14 - 11/30 vs Duke

playing odu that late is eerily similar to a bigboy football school's schedule

It also guarantees no more than 25,000 people in BKS, that's Thanksgiving weekend!!! --------------------------------------------- --- scotlandheel wrote:

Re: Predict tthe 2013 schedule
Bubba has one very important assignment - break up the rotation of vpi, gt and nc-raleigh being away games in the same season. And now possibly pitt in that rotation.
It is not in Carolina's best interest to play away games at vpi or at pitt in 30 degree weather. And with only um and uva as home games, the schedule is not attractive to ticket buyers. I don't dismiss bc or dook, but they are not consistently contenders. For that matter, neither will uva be in 2013.
By the way, odu signed 35 recruits for their move up to BCS this season. Ten must have been allowed to count as 2012.

Let's make it the last game we need to win to be undefeated and see how many people show up ;)

I honestly can see us beating South Carolina the same way A&M beat Bama last year. Only? Is our defense

BC and GT already have non-confernce games these weeks (as indicated in my first response in this thread). Perhaps flip them?

Ouch ! To start the season with 3 of 4 games away - @ sc, home, @ gt, @ pitt - is not a good way to acclimate new starters on D or helpful in the W-L column.

It would not surprise me if every game is noon-ish...
Maybe the UVA game will get a later start...

Re: Predict the 2013 schedule
September trips to ATL are not in our favor. I flew down for the last one and was not happy with the defensive performance, although it wasn't nearly as bad as the BS I witnessed against GT this last year in Kenan. --------------------------------------------- --- acc14 wrote:

I really hope we get ND, FSU or Clemson in Kenan in 2015 or we are going to have the same issue with the games that season. With Miami being weak, I would say the three best conference games out of the 7 we get every season are at home in even years. Certainly VT and State are bigger TV draws, and I personally think GT is too. I seriously doubt the UVa game gets a night kickoff. It obviously depends on things other than just the matchup (like what the other games are that weekend), but the "sexiest" home game on the schedule is the Miami game. Maybe they will be decent and the game will be late in the season such that there are definitive coastal implications, but I actually like noon games late in the season. We need some night games in September when it's 90º duirng the day.

No, but Syracuse is rumored to be the school that is holding everything up because they didn't have but three OOC games schedules. Reports are that Syracuse may have a game set with FCS Wagner on 9/14. If so, my guess is that the schedule will be released early next week.

Re: Predict the 2013 schedule
Well, I'm glad the ACC office kept to their "early February" projection for when they expected to release the full schedule.
IIRC, the SEC schedule for THIS season was announced before LAST season had even ended.
