So, I'm just back from my holiday travels which included El Paso. On Sat., Dec. 29, we were browsing at the Fort Bliss PX when an announcement came over the loudspeaker that the Georgia Tech Marching Band would perform in the special events area outside in 15 minutes. Gathered up my two young grandchildren and took them outside to watch. The GT band gave a great 30 minute performance that the crowd much appreciated. It was a bittersweet moment for me!

PS: Had a chance to converse with some of the kids in the food court after; most of the seniors had been to BKS at least once. Sun Bowl officials, according to the paper, seemed pleased with attendance (just 4,000 shy of capacity) and game. It was chilly but very sunny on the 31st.
