koenning was asked a question about it. I only posted that part of the article as I said in the opening. The article in full is talking about our defensive recruits, it wasn't a bash Wiggins article.

I honestly don't care where Wiggins went to school, if it was UNC then great, if not, oh well. The part I find funny, or should I say ironic, is that I read somewhere once that Dabo's policy is, if you commit to Clemson and take other visits afterwards, you lose your CU scholly and they are pretty much done with you. Yet, he and his staff have no problems at all going after other kids committed elsewhere. That pretty much shows me all I need to know about Ol' Dumbo. BTW, we stole a better recruit already from Clemson in R.J. Prince (Albemarle, NC). Some folks may not know that he was a Clemson commit until switching to UNC sometime last year.

Don't think we'll ever miss him. GO HEELS!! By the way, when Dabo mentioned their big pick ups on Signing day, he never mentioned his name.

Honestly I don't think that reflects negative on Dabo. That is his job as a recruiter. When a kid commits to a coach/school he should have sense of obligation to stick with it. The coach is obligated to recruit the best recruit that he can. I also agree with his policy. As a coach I would straight up tell a kid not to commit if he is was unsure and still wanted to take visit. I would also tell a kid that if he did commit and decided that he felt the need to take more visit, I couldn't guarantee his spot. I would let him now that because I could risk being blindsided at the last minute, I would continue to recruit his position and if a kid that I like wanted to commit then his spot would probably be gone.

I think you as a recruiter have to take that stance regardless of the recruit. You can continue to recruit the kid but you can't allow yourself to left at the alter without a backup.

Front Row: TJ Logan, Khris Francis

Normally you could make up the gap with early enrollees. That's why you see so many schools sign over 25 players because the early enrollees count towards the previous years.

However, UNC is not in that position. Remember we can only have 80 guys on scholarship. Without serious attrition, we can only sign like 7 to 10 players for 2014.

That's not true.

With such limited scholarships, and even more limited scholarships in 2014 with just ten scholarship seniors on the current North Carolina roster, the Tar Heel coaches preferred to wait and save the scholarship for next year.

UNC can sign a couple of January enrollees in 2014 and have them count against the 2013 numbers since they signed just 17 total players. The maximum was 19 for 2013, as the Roy Smith scholarship from the 2012 season had to count against the class.

Dude trust me I am right. You are looking at this strictly based on being able to sign 20 players per year. However, the more important number is that we can only have 80 players on scholarship. At the end of the 2013 season, assuming no attrition, there will be 70 players on scholarship, hence we can only sign 10. Now some guys will go pro early or get hurt or not be academically eligible so we can sign more. As of right now, we could sign 10.

While he is probably one of the smartest players i've seen on the HS level, being left on an island covering the deep thirds with WR's with very good to elite speed could pose a problem. He'll definitely need to get faster if he's going to play FS or SS. He has an excellent lean frame at 6'1 that could easily pack on 30 to 40lbs and play OLB. With his tackling ability and his knowledge of the game i think he could end up being one of the top OLB in the ACC in time. However I think Clemson sold Korrin on playing DB just to get him to sign.

I think UNC pissed him off, not sure how.... Maybe they told him they wanted him at the Ram..... After he got pissed off the word on the street was that the Heels were moving Boston to the Ram... allowing Korrin to compete for one of the deep safties positions. Scheme wise UNC would have been to best choice. UNC safties are hardly ever left on islands, and with his brains if he took care of his job his lack of speed wouldn't be exposed, unless his teammates made mistakes... However with Clemson's scheme their safties are always on deep third islands. Their safties inability to protect the deep thirds against FSU were the reason they didn't go undefeated and get a chance to steal Alabama's spot in the National Championship game.

I remember when the video came out and Fed was showing him the Love, I thought then he would switch, but was hoping for the best.

Exactly. In Clemson's best interest to not tell us.

That's exactly my point. If you already know, have enough class to tell the other team they're out of the running. Stand up and handle your decision like a man, especially after the other school stuck with you for an entire year.
